I was wondering which of these 2 graphics card set ups will be the best, and what's the GTX equivelent to the ATI 5770?

Yes two 9800GT's in SLI are faster then a single 5770. Nvidia single gpu close to a 5770 would be the GTX 260-275 and the GTS 450.
