I will always buy Nvidia cards, for all the talk about ATi being better they seem to always be the first people to have problems with games. Nvidia go to extra lengths to make sure their product is well supported and I see no reason for them to make sure ATi cards work with games that they help with development for free.

It's up to ATi to do their job, not Nvidia.

The sour grapes spewing from ATI and conspiracy supporters is entertaining but also a little sad. Hard work has always had it's detractors from those who think things should just be given to them. If ATI cared they would put in the work necessary to be "how it is played". That Nvidia had done so on such a poor port says more about them then not.

In a posted poll recently Nvidia beat ATI on the card most people use. This surprised me until I realized that it's the loudest wheel that gets the most attention and produces the loudest complainers. Personally I love the competition. It is known that you are what your record says you are and ATI is number two. Why? Because number one works harder.

Thats just the PR firm that represents Pandemic.

It was an internal port, but after Mercs 2, is anyone really shocked?

The_PC_Gamer

Huh, really? That site doesn't reference anything about PR, just a bunch of development positions and game porting jobs - in addition, Pandemic IS EA, and they already have a pretty big internal PR department. Add to that where EA's got a decent history of passing off individual platforms to be developed by other companies completely, like some of the NFS games. But I don't really know for sure though, so you could be right - just looks incredibly unlikely.

It reminds me of the one time i bought a ati card over an Nvidia card, I got a ati 9700 and it didn't work for Kotor at all, I exchanged it quickly for an nvidia 5700 ultra which was the worst nvidia card series (why i tried ati to begin with that round) but it played all the games good enough. Nvidia has always been great with drivers where ati has been notorious for crap drivers especially opengl (which sadly isn't as relavant in pc gaming anymore, :( )

[QUOTE="lordlors"]I hate nvidia because their drivers don't work for me. I guess i'm unlucky but it's really infuriating. It's always "The computer has not been modified" in the end of every installation since 182.16 patch. I reinstalled OS (Vista and Win7) 3 times. 3 times already and it still doesn't work can you believe it? Ugh What's more bad is that i have little money to switch to 5770. I got a 8800 GTS 320. I game at 1280x1024 anyway so i really don't need the top 3 strongest cards. Actually my 8800 GTS 320 is still doing pretty well if it weren't for the bad drivers which is why i'm experiencing more crashes and framerate issues with games that really don't demand strong hardware especially at my res.

I have a 8800gts 640mb from 3 years ago, the drivers have always been great, no problems...
