Now we see that SOPA and PIPA were just false-flag anti-piracy bills, aimed at drawing attention away from ACTA, which is the most Draconian bill you could imagine. ACTA will allow foreign governments, agencies (maybe even companies or indivduals?) to demand your website is shutdown, by your ISP. The ISP cannot question the decision and is also obliged to supply details on all of your Internet browsing, including E-Mails to any of several thousand bodies, agencies and companies World-wide! Plus your Internet connection will be terminated after three strikes. You will not be permitted Internet to your house after that, regardless of how many people live there and who was actually responsible! Everyone must pay. This is one scary Big Brother ACT!
Sigh. I've completely lost faith in humanity. ACTA is a trade agreement that does not grant more powers to the state and does not create new criminal offences. It's far less draconian than SOPA, PIPA or OPEN. Also is was signed by the US months ago.
It's cool to hate it though!
