oblivion 1st and 3rd person modes

im really unhappy about the 3rd person mode in oblivion...i play both 1st and 3rd...but i hate how i slide when i run diagonal

and i know elder scrolls have a tradition for 1st person...but is it really that hard to make some animations for a proper 3 person mode???

just wanted to know what the ppl thought about it 

The performance takes a hit in 3rd.  Its a lot harder to interact with objects and fight.  And when you jump in 3rd it looks like a frozen block flying through the air.  I play in 1st.

Seeing as how the game was always designed for a first person view, with the third person view being an awesome way to show off what you've got on your character, I'm not too annoyed by it.FreyarHunter

Yeah I'm the same way.  Its nice to drop into 3rd to check yourself out every now and then when you are just standing or walking around.  But if you are actually doing anything at all or interaction with anything, its got be in 1st!

All the animations in 3rd person look fine to me except the jump. Gothic 1 and 2 had a better jump but the walking animation was terrible and those games were designed for 3rd person. Oblivions walk animation is much better. The combat animations are very good.

I use the chase camera mod. Havent seen good feedback for any crosshair mods though. 

After a few minutes of playing its easy to interact with the environment without a crosshair. Picking flowers and lootting bodies. Only use 1st person for tough fights where I need to use projectiles.

I usally go in 3rd person if I'm sneaking around or something, & sometimes when I'm bored running through the forest, but when I need to fight or click on things I'm in 1st person...OMGFINE
