Ok I've had this game for quite a while now, and I play it often. Lately though, the game is crashing, alot!!! And it's not just the game crashing, it's my computer too. The game stops, then the sound stutters, the my computer comes up with the blue screen of death, the it's restarted back to the dell load up screen. I thought it only happens when I'm in the shivering isles, but it's actually random, I could be in cyrodiil as well! I have narrowed it down though, it happens any time, but about 90% of the time, it happens when I walk in or out of a door, or I fast travel. Any help would be gladly appreciated.

From then until now when you've noticed the problem, did you install any other programs on your computer that might be conflicting with it? Are you running any programs in the background when you play the game?

I actually just started having the same problem occasionally. I don't know what's up. But I did get a new video card so that may be the problem.

What mods do you use? I had the same problem with the crashes but after i deactivated some conflicting mods it worked fine.

InstallShield will usually ask if you want save files deleted. If they don't ask, make a copy as a back up. It should be under My Documents > My Games > Oblivion - or - C:\Users\*Windows User ID*\Documents\My Games\Oblivion. Should you uninstall and the save files gets deleted, you can just paste the backup copy in My Documents.

Try disabling all mods and see if it crashes. Then enable mods one by one to find where the problem lies. That's how I fixed the crashing issues.

It happens unfortunately - try not to use ANY mods and keep your savegames down to a max of 10 to avoid issues.
