Me and my freind are having a debate over which is better and would like your opinions. obviously oblivon is better but he seems to disagree, we have both played both games and can only turn to as poll vote!

i'm not sure its fair to compare, single player freeroaming RPG versus a co-op focused action type role playing game.

Online game versus singleplayer?

Maybe your friend prefers multiplayer over singleplayer.

It's kind of a silly comparison, the games really aren't similar at all (except in that they are both fantasy based). It's like asking "Sim City 4 or Call of Duty, which is better?". Different genres, different standards. One is a single player only action/RPG in a fairly open world with scripted quests and a single overall plot-line, the other is a Multiplayer only on-line action game, masquerading as a MMORPG. I guess which one is better depends solely on whether you'd rather singe or multi player gaming.

Bummer man, Gygax died? Well all these RPG owe a debt to that guy and his partner. I have the DM Guide with that picture in your icon.

Personally, I'd say Guild Wars, I'm still playing it now after 2 years, good stuff, not perfect, but GW2 will adress that.

guild wars. i still enjoy it more when i treat it as a single player game (ie just bring henchmen out). overall its just a better adventure and a more entertaining game.

id take morrowind over guild wars though....thats a better game again imho.

Both are good but Guild Wars has held my interest somewhat more.

Oblivion is great, but it's just missing something.

I've played over 800 hours in guild wars, and have beat oblivion (closed the gates and destroyed the final boss) twice once with a caster breton once with a warrior style nord ... and I would say overall even though Oblivion was a great experience and I woul drecommend it, but Guild wars is a better game, I say that because I enjoy interactive games and oblivion is just a single player.

Hmm. I enjoyed both actually, although I don't play either of them very much now. I thought Oblivion was a great single player game, but since I have 10 lvl 20 characters in GW the game kinda got old for me. I played through all 4 games about 3 times each and I didn't want to do any farming for stuff. Both are good games. I just want more info on GW2 to come out...

Oblivion = singleplayer, Guildwars = MMO.

both are great, if system specs is a problem to any extent, guild wars requires less.
