If the card gets too hot,it'll shut down by itself(well, the PC will crash) or you'll get artifacts.

Can you install a side fan into your case? I've found that having a side fan helps quite a bit in cooling down the video cards.

Also, giving the heatsink a dusting wouldn't hurt if you haven't done this already.

I have a pretty big side fan, and My case is pretty open in general. I doubt that's it. So far no artifacts or crashing that I've noticed. I also have a custom fan profile. I probably should dust the thing tho. How often should i do that? So i guess everything is ok? :P

Your card will let you know when something is wrong. but 90 is a bit high. My 560 Ti gets to a max of 68 and never any higher with most times around 60.

I would dust maybe once every month or even two months

that's not too bad my hd3870x2 in the computer beside me idles at 101c, and it's been doing this for months and still works np. Had it for several years now. I turned the fan to 2% because otherwise it's too loud to clarify why I did that, and it won't go to 2d clocks.

I had a similar thing with the 2 4870s I had, they would idle really high at like 70-80c. Couldnt go over 35% fan speed or they were loud as hell.

Set a more aggressive profile. My 275 stays around 80 at load.
