[QUOTE="FelipeInside"]For those that have better memory than me. Was Diablo's 2 multiplayer perfect at launch? Or did they fix it later down the track with balancing and patches? Remember, D3 has only been out a month or so...trastamad03

D2 was also a mess both SP and MP when it launched... People seem to have forgotten it (Even D2 had terrible loot at launch and only later on did they patch in that). Not to mention there have been a few posts showing old forum posts of people going crazy over how bad Diablo 2 was back then. Blizz has already started to get back on path with D3, they are constantly improving the loot drops. My character doesn't have any MF/GF gear on her and yet I'm able to get some ilvl63s that sell for millions.

Not only that but they are going to boost the loot drop rate for higher lvl items in Act 3 and 4. No one knows what the PVP will bring aside from what they showed before (the 2v2 Arena). I'm sure they'll talk about for a future patch. I'm hoping it will have a Gear check so we're pinned against people with the same gear lvl rather than character level.

Then people should stop complaining, take a chill pill and go play something else. The game is great fun (specially with friends) but it obviously is broken in Inferno. Just let them fix it up. Who knows, maybe a year down the track D3 will be as big as D2, specially with expansions and PvP available as well.

With friends the game is indeed fun, but most of my friends gave up on D3 and without friends the game is a bore :(.

The game is just disappointing all around, not just inferno, but the game was boring in Normal and Nightmare as well, I only pushed on because I told myself "it will get better", I was wrong.

I hope they will fix this game up. But I fear, they wont, namely because of even more poor design choices.

You know, the loot is a bit dissapointing at this point. But, as plenty have pointed out here, Diablo 2 also had really weak loot at the very beginning. It has a lot of great loot now, but that's after an expansion and dozens of patches. I have a feeling that Blizzard isn't going to just abandon Diablo 3. They will give it the same continued support that Diablo 2 had and, after a year or two, and an expansion, it will have awesome stuff, and will probably live on with a legacy like Diablo 2. Until then, I still haven't finished inferno yet, and I've finally got some gear good enough to actually make more progress. So I'm still having fun, and have 4 more classes to check out.

EXACTLY. That's why I asked about D2. It was the same at the start. Heck, every online game has issues at the start...loot issues, lag issues, balancing issues whatever. Blizzard are not just going to stop balancing D3 or adding new stuff. Right now Inferno has issues, if it bothers you THAT much, go play something else and wait for the next patch.

While I love the game and it does much better, they SHOULD know how to make looting fun in the end game. Having legendaries and set items almost never drop, then when they do they suck, is not fun.

With that said, of course there will be issues, and even with them I have a had a fantastic time. I am getting bored now though and hope things will be fixed and added to (I am positive they will be).

I played DII from launch, but I never got very far as I was younger, didn't have internet and so on. I was a noob more or less :P. So maybe the loot and everything was crap for end game. I love it now, but I now a lot has changed through patches and expansions.

^^ Exactly Naveed. Just give it time and end-game will get better. Heck, even PvP is coming. For now I am on D3 Pause and trying to get thru my backlog :(

Sh!t yes! Beat Act 2 inferno with my Barbarian. Solo'd the whole thing, up til belial. He killed me about 9 times, so I joined a public game, and then he squashed the whole group 3 times, but we got him. Time to get my face smashed in Act 3.

I think they need a drop increase as well. They always have those odd modifiers that could actually be useful if we could stack it enough. (Plus they look really cool.) I still think Inferno looting should stop the sub-60 drops, or at least cut it off at maybe 58 or 59. Getting plenty of loot running Act 1, even a decent amount of 63s. I'd be getting even more if it wasn't for the low level crap. Oh, and all level 60 weapons should have some kind of damage modifier. Nothing is more disappointing than getting a ilvl 63 weapon with sh!t dps because it doesn't have a modifier.

I went online and found a new build. Got some different gear that was a loss in DPS, but I'm not seeing a difference in numbers actually. It's quite nice not focusing on pure dps.

Thinking about doing that since I can't seem to survive Belial. Everything else isn't an issue, but when I get to Belial it feels like I'm starting Inferno all over again. :(

Yeah, I changed to a new build style that focuses on critical hits more than regular dps. Now, with battle rage on, I have about 22k dps, plus 35% crits at +250% damage. I hit extremely hard, when I can get in some hits. Some elite power sets are still just too much all at once. I don't even bother trying to fight things with fire chains or molten solo anymore. I see them, and I exit the game and restart from the checkpoint, hoping for better luck.

ChubbyGuy40

He is such a b!tch. I got a really good rhythm for getting through the first half of the fight like a breeze. Then he turns big. And has like 100 times more health. And does that huge area attack where you have to run around to avoid it, and one f*ck up and you're dead. I definitely felt like it was too hard to waste time on until I did it with the group. That wasn't too bad. Still, there was like 3 times that we got him down to about 5% health, then he got lucky and killed all of us with that area attack. Luckily, he attacks slow enough that there's time to rez others when they get killed by that, if at least one person lives. We definitely made use of that.

With fire chains, I back myself into a corner so they can't swarm me. Usually they're low enough before the corner that I can kill them even while taking a few hits. I have a lot of fire resist so molten doesn't hit that hard, but fire chains still kinda do. If I find something I can't kill, I'll drag them into a spot I've cleared already and won't go back to so they won't bother me.

I can't even get to his second phase. If I go DPS, he chases me down and melees me to death. If I go defensive, I don't have enough dps before his adds swarm me. Pretty sure I can take his phase 2 pretty easily if I can get to it. Pretty good at dodging his attacks so they aren't too big of an issue.

What class are you? With my barb, the only way I got to his second phase was using berserker as soon as he comes down to fight. I use the rune that also adds 100% damage with berserker, and I manage to just crush him down to the point that he goes into the next phase before his buddies even come out.

Wizard. I don't know why but he hits especially hard in melee. If he stood at range more often I wouldn't have a problem.

Gonna level my barbarian one day because he's so damn fun. Already been stockpiling a ton of gear for him.

Awesome. The barb is sweet. I also have a wizard that I've been leveling with a friend who plays a monk. We just got to act 3 nightmare with them, though. I'm not sure what's a good setup for a wizard in inferno, but my barb definitely kicks a lot of ass with a heavy critical hit and resistances build. Someone should get an official D3 strategy thread going on. Get everyone discussing what skillsets and stats have been working well in inferno for all the classes.

Gamespot is not a place where that would be a good idea to start. :P You should head over to Diablofans if you want any meaningful discussions.

Just beat Inferno with my barb. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. What a rush. The Diablo fight is in-sane. Died 8 or 9 times in the shadow realm part of the battle, the barb clone is a pure ass. Now its time to start farming gear so my wizard back in act 2 can clear it, then it's time to start the Demon Hunter next. This game is awesome.

Servers down for anyone else right now? I was just playing solo on my wizard a few minutes ago, and out of nowhere I got disconnected with an error message that said "error creating your own party" (???.. wasn't doing anything having anything to do with a party...) And now it won't let me sign in. Locks up at the "authenticating credentials" step.

So far after 310+ hours I have 3 lvl 60 characters (Barb, DH and Monk) with two of them just at Belial in Inferno (Barb, DH). Only the Barb is capable to firmly progress through Act II, but with a couple of changes -and millions in each one- DH and Monk will find a way to do the same. I'm currently saving 3 millions in a race to reach 10 and then enhance again my Barb.

GrupoAverno.jpg

^ My friends and me in a coop match.

Playing was mainly fun, half of the time in coop with 2 friends, I'll say it again: the game lacks end game, lacks content, and with the Guild Wars 2 release pointing to the end of August and my 2 team mates going heavily towards that game, I don't have too much expectation on the Diablo III lifespan. More on, most of the Blizzard changes in the patches are oriented towards the nerf of successful tactics -goblin farm, chest farm, IAS stack... and soon mf gear swap-. Inferno was done in hardcore even before the 1.03 patch, so the game seems very done if Blizzard doesn't release an expansion this year -which just will not be the case-.

I'm not slightly interested in the upcoming pvp component. I would rather see an expansion that had a whole act with more gems, items, monsters and even a few new characters. However based on Blizzard's development cycle (or lack of a concise one) the release for such a small expansion would be end of 2013 if we are lucky.

Got a few lucky drops that sold, spent 22 million on the ah and beat act3 in one sitting, only died a handful of times, blizzard dosent know how to make games based of player skills, its always based on stats, I have the stats for act3 so it was easy. Going to beat act4 this weekend, and maybe farm some, but more then likely I will be done, I have played so long now and am so close i have to beat the game on inferno before i quit.

While Diablo III is very gear dependant, it takes a good amount of skill as well, moreso than any other Iso ARPG I have played.

I just had an encounter with an elite mob that definitely proved some skill is required. Playing with my barb, if I had even begun to try to tank these guys would've crushed me in a half a second. So I ran circles around them, timing my leap (with armor rune) and revenge hits to keep hp up. They knocked me down to less than 5% health more times than I can count, and I kept just jumping around them, whittling them down. Another elite mob came into the fray when I hadn't yet finished off the first, and I was really worried for a second, but then the countdown on berserker finally ran out and I got to use it again. That, combined with battle rage, and I got lucky enough with the critical hits that I crushed most of them before it wore out. Then it was smooth for the last couple dudes. It was intense as hell, and I definitely wouldn't have been able to pull it off if I wasn't experience with the flow and rhythm of this particular build, and the best ways to avoid and counter certain elite monster abilities.

I've been looking on there every now and again just to see. Most stuff is real cheap indeed. A few things have buyout prices at like $100 or more, but who knows if they're actually selling at that. A friend of mine sold somethin for $60. Doesn't matter to me, as I don't intend to buy anything. I did put something up for sale just to see if it goes. A legendary fist weapon I found. Most of the same legendaries with comparable stats on the RMAH had buyout prices between $50 and $150, so I put mine at $60. We'll see if that goes anywhere.

ChubbyGuy40

No, you had the stats to overpower the content. Learn the difference.

what difference? There is no skill in being stuck in walls, fire at you feet, laser beams on the ground, and so many guys around u get stuck and cannot move at times. You have to have the gear to take the hits. I am farther then you, I know how to gear and play my character, face it aim am better then you, you can stop with your snide little comments now.

I agree. They weren't able to make Inferno harder than hell at all, is just that the ememie's stats are too much at the beguining for the hgear of most players -not to mention the large array of mods designet TO PREVENT THE PLAYER TO CORRECTLY PLAY, as nightmare, jailer, flozer, wall... and some others designed in combination with the first ones to insta-kill the undergeared player, as arcane/desecrator/lava/shield/invulnerability. But once you get the gear this is what happens:

Beat the game on inferno today, ACT3 and 4 are the same difficulty, no jump like from 1/2/3, I didnt need any upgrades that I didnt already have. I one shotted diablo,5 stacks and grabage loot as usual. Actually I dint get a single piece even worth selling from act3 or 4, I havent tried to farm them but that's a full clear on both. I thought I may farm a bit, but as soon as I beat it and tried to farm act4, I realised I was only playing to beat the game, I wanted to beat it before my freinds lol. I am offically done, I have over 400 hrs between characters, I never found a set piece, I found 7 legendarys all worthless, the last 2 were in the last 2 days, a level 61 belt with worst stats then a level55 belt, and a level 62 2 hander that had 779 dps and garbage stats when identified, it is safe to say the loot in this game is garbage.

The loot needs some SERIOUS work. It is the main killer for me. Love the game, but I am getting bored and am dissapointed (though I have faith it will get much better). If by chance it never gets better, I hope Grim Dawn knocks my socks off. That and/or GW2.

And all of that crap is avoidable because of your own movement and placement or with skills that your character has. Wait you're farther than me so you automatically know more and are more skilled? You whine like a little kid who didn't get his toy from his happy meal until you got a weapon worth something at which point your attitude took a complete 180.

What happened with your Demon Hunter? Gear got too expensive for you? Also for a game you seem to hate and bash with every post, you sure do put a lot of time into it.

Yeah posting a video of someone who had gear and millions of gold that we'll never see donated to him as some sort of proof the game is easy. Welcome to the world of gaming where you can overpower anything with stats.

BTW why do you give that attention-whore any of your time?

What is your problem? Are you slow or something? Do you think I just stand there and don't move at all? Since day 1 you have acted like you know more then everyone about this game, your a blind blizzard drone. Don't pretend to tell me how to play, like I need pointers form you I doubt u will ever beat the game by yourself. You have been the most annoying poster about this game since day 1. You cannot tell me anything about the game that I don't already know. If you were not such a bad player and got father you would see what I am talking about, I am not going to bother to explain any more to you, you need get a life.

From the sound of how you played your Demon Hunter, yes. I never acted like that, but the game is simple to understand. And just because you got the gear to overpower the content, now I'm a bad player and you're better than me?

Also, you say you have over 400 hours between characters. Pretty obvious that's BS since you'd have to put in over 7 hours every day since to reach that by now. For a game you seem to hate, you sure do love coming back for more. Now, who needs to get a life?

You are trying to argue just to argue because you are a moron, you are for some reason trying to argue that the game is not all about stats, which it is it is no different, except enemy's hit harder and have more health, hence u need more gear, and yes I am better then you. You like to argue just to argue. This will be the last time i respond to you, so go ahead and post something snide, so u can try to get the last word as usual. I am done arguing with children.

You complained for the sake of complaining so you could let everyone else know how much you sucked at this game. People beat Inferno with crap stats because they picked a good build and knew how to play and what to avoid. I don't expect that from someone who thinks the AH is mandatory and wouldn't have survived without it. (There's your snarky comment.)

Please be the last time you respond to anything. You'd be doing this entire board a favor. Also children would've been smart enough to leave a game they don't like alone, and that would be that.

For a second, I thought the gold farming spammers from the D3 chatrooms had infiltrated the forums. Good thing this d-bag is just advertising some other crap, I guess. Either way, reported.

Is there any reason for the lack of mid-dungeon checkpoints?

And why does it take more time to respawn after each successive death?

I honestly don't have fun anymore on higher difficulties. It's just cheap, frustrating and unrewarding. It's a lot of fun on Normal and I'll complete that with each cIass, but anything higher sucks out all the fun.

On top of that Blizzard clearly over-engineered the loot system. It's too linear and too smooth.

Hopefully the patches will inject some more randomness and turn the smooth loot progression curve into a rollercoaster.

Well, checkpoints of any kind are a new thing for the series. The extra respawn time, I don't like either, and it does make higher difficulties very frustrating. Although, inferno is really the only one that's given me much trouble. Blazed through normal nightmare and hell with my barb no problem, and I have a wizard halfway through nightmare now. Getting through inferno has been a chore, but it's really all about the stats. When I first got to act 2 inferno with my barb, it was a brick wall. Literally impossible, and not even worth trying. I farmed act 1 a bit, and bought some new gear, to heavily boost resists, and critical hit chance/damage, now I crush most of act 2, and I've had some of the most intense and rewarding fights I've ever seen.

Has anyone managed to beat Inferno (softcore) WITHOUT using the AH at all, yet? I'm going for the feat and it's quite the challenge I must say.

I don't know, but I wouldn't have been able to beat the first batch of stinging wasps in Act 2 inferno without the AH.

Also,
