Are you kidding? Sure my PC can run it fine with my 8800GTS and E4400, but seriously, this is a RYTHM game with CARTOON BACKGROUND, whats the deal?spam-Robot
I agree, for a game like this, it shouldn't be THAT demanding.
Something is serioulsy wrong here...

I doubt the developers are experienced with PC games, either that or they didn't put a lot of effort into making the game for the PC to begin with.[QUOTE="Sliverwarrior"][QUOTE="spam-Robot"]RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

Any computer you buy these days will just pwn the first Xbox/
Guitar Hero shouldn't more demanding than dance dance revolution, which played just fine on thefirstxbox.
In the end, its them who'll lose money for their lack of skills and judgement.

I doubt the developers are experienced with PC games, either that or they didn't put a lot of effort into making the game for the PC to begin with.or they just do market research by reading online forums such as this one, and convinced by the loudest bunch that 20"+ widescreen, core 2 duo (very soon it's gonna be quad ones), and 8800 series are becoming "standrd" for PC gaming now.

I mean, I can play crysis on my computer and I got a 2.2ghz SINGLE processor.
But I wouldn't be able to play guitar hero? Lmao, fine Ill go buy crysis.
I guess they can't optimize lol remember one of them devs syaing how the PS3 sucks cause or w/e because of optimization.Grantelicious
They can't blame consoles or PCs because THEY lack the skills to optimize..
Good thing I have no interest in this game. And I have to ask the question that has been asked a millions times (they even did a South Park episode about it) why on earth would you play some dumb game with a fake guitar instead of just learning to play real guitar?
And yes I do like to play a lot of sports video games that I don't necessarily go out and learn the real game. But I don't have to buys some dumb little fake football to play Madden.
Wow, I didnt know that moving dots were so hardware intensive...RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

LOL this game should have lower system requirements than World of Warcraft_SpaceCase_
I know lol, the developpers/programmers are really pathetic.
Its not even funny, its more sad to see such wasted potential.
I mean look, moving dots...and it requires DUAL CORE? What on earth is wrong with these guys?

Crysis has nothing on this! THIS IS THE FIRST GAME THIS YEAR THAT DESERVES THE TITLE "NEXT-GEN"!

Yeah there is something seriously wrong with this.Yeah, I seriously rofled at those specs, I mean for gods sake, a 8800GT! Gahh! I just got one of theose things...and no way should such a card come even close to being "required" for a game like this!-CheeseEater-It isn't required, it is recommended.
Im suppose to believe this? Im pretty sure for a game like this it requires alot less.RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

You would think they would want it to run on anything, even those "typewriter" computers you get at Costco for 400 dollars, so anyone, young and old, can get into the game.
Now it seems that only hardcore gamers can play it well lol.
There's *nothing* wrong with this. Those are simply the specifications to run the game with high graphics (equivelent to the 360's) with 60 FPS. You seem to be forgetting this is a game where 60 FPS is crucial to gameplay. If you have FPS problems, turn down the graphics. Simple as that.GodLovesDead
Do you know this for a fact?
Also, any game designed and properly optimized to use similar settings that GHIII requires, would make a 360 look pathetic.
Honestly, you won't see any difference in performance on a game running 35FPS on one machine while the game runs 60FPS on another machine.
If the actual posted requirements are true, then the game is poorly optimized for PC and the company is severly limiting their fan base on PCs because only about roughly 5% of PC owners (according to Steam's gathered info) runs with an 8800GTS (not an 8800GT - 8800GT puts the 8800GTS to shame), dual core processors and 2GB memory.

NEOSPARKING
lol. That would be totally false (as it has already been said). Why would a developer make a game that has trouble running on low-end systems? Wouldn't that discourage casual gamers from playing it on their mom's work computer... therefore decreasing sales?

Not everyone uses Steam so Im sure the percentage is off. Also want ed to add that there is a difference between a game running at 60fps and one running at 30(Almost night and day). However 30fps is fine to be honest.[QUOTE="GodLovesDead"]There's *nothing* wrong with this. I know this for a fact. People run this game on high with 6800s perfectly fine. I have an 8800GTS and play at 1680x1050 with maxed everything @ 60 FPS. You WILL see a difference between 35 FPS and 60 FPS on Guitar Hero 3 simply better you'll notice hitches in the former. If you wanted to run the game on a 3 year old PC, you can do so just fine. The stupidity in this thread is nuts. RedOctane obviously aren't PC developers, and it's a port. They don't know what to put for these things.
Guys you gotta understand does moving dots have intentense graphics such as motion blur and uber nice colors.... Now you see why it needs demanding hardware cause the developers were uber tired of putting graphics in those dots and optimations was not an option.
I run it 28fps Maxed
No screen aa
:D
I did a double take when I went to pickup the box at the graphics. I figured they were blowing steam with the recomended reqs.
Turns out for whatever reason, it's optimized poorly though, for real.
It ran on my 4200+ 2gb 2x7600GT sli setup fine on max graphics at 1072x768... but unfortunately it would occasionally hiccup a little, especially when doing some wide arc camera pan. And in a timing game, hiccups are totally unacceptable. So I got tired of missing notes because of a .5 second delay and removed the crowd and put it on "low" (you get little options, Graphics low and high, crowd on/off, physics on/off, and resolution).
For all the interviews aspyre did talking about how awesome it would be to have the game on a laptop, I'm not seeing that as a real possibility, which is kind of a shame.
Interviews also said the biggest port issue from 360 to PC was compressing the 360's 3 processor pipeline into a single unit. So I guess something flubbed somewhere. Wish someone would hurry up and mod the game to do it better. Having a crowd again instead of an empty room would sure be sweet...
