Ok, Farcry 2 looks AMAZING (94% on pc gamer uk magazine)

Right, i just read the Farcry 2 MP preview, and this game just keeps getting better. for those of you who havent read it, it has a XP/leveling up system with unlocks, similar to COD4. the sp zone is 50km squared (apperently), and the pc gamer uk magazine review is up and it got 94%. (some guy posted it on the farcry 2 forums with pics to back it up). here, i'll provide a link to one of his pics just to prove it.

I've been interested in Far Cry 2 ever since I first heard about it. On paper, it's simply spectacular, but in practice... well, Ubisoft (and the particular development team on FC2) has been responsible for more than a few stinkers. My interest and excitement for the game have always been tempered by the low expectations we should all have when dealing with Ubisoft.

This review is neat, but it has had no impact on my expectations for the game.I'm hoping the game is great, but I'll believe it when I play it.

reading the last page of the review, makes me think i would not prefer this game a lot - respawning enemies and reptitive levels are not things which i like

If it got a 94% by UK PCGAMER it has to be REALLY GOOD cause that is the only pc magazine that has fair review and a great bunch of guys working for the magazine... It is the only rating source I follow, the hit the spot 99% of the times (the only missed it with The Witcher!!!!) ... another game I will have to get cause 94% is a really high score for UK PCGAMERMotherRussia

Its all personal opinion... ill wait to see what other places say before even banking on it being a good game.

I know exactly what you mean. skeptacism comes hand in hand with ubisoft, espcecially considerring the TERRIBLE ports they consistently poop out for the pc. awful optimization, glitchiness, and absurdly high requirements are commenplace with them. but like someone said, pc gamer uk is a very reputable magazine, and they usually don't give out high ratings for nothing. I know i should be wary, but i just can't help getting excited for a game that looks this good. i just can't.

I still think it's gonna be highly mediocre.

But whutever. It'll be a pleasant surprise if it isn't a I guess.

The idea of Ubisoft making a game worthy of a 94% review score is terrifying though o.o

When I read the title of this thread, all I could say is, "**** yeah!"

It was a definite buy for me, but this is just a great reassurance. :)

The videos for this game show it as an awesome thing to play and own, come on guys it'll be the pride of your games collection.

I mean all you have to do is watch soem of the videos to already be entranced by it, lol.

I've already pre-ordered it yesterday on amazon and if it's crap, then I'll just send it back.

the only thing that it has in common with cod4 is "guns". great score for far cry 2, cant wait to play it.

He never said that it'll be like CoD4, he just said it'll be overrated. Like CoD4 was.

To be honest the only shooters that look good is FEAR 2, and Left 4 Dead.. Farcry 2 doesn't look much different to me other then just a consolized Crysis, with a rpgish approach.sSubZerOo
