Good luck prying my Mac out of my cold, dead hand. That said, I make my living on PCs, so I can't complain about them, either.

If you're a gamer -- you'll pick the PC; if you're into video production ect. -- you'll pick the Mac. I'm into both, and I still pick the PC.

It's all about personal choice/need. I am primarily a gamer, as well as a person who supports Windows products in my workplace. So I toss my hate to Windows but for others, the Mac is a great choice for them. For me, it isn't what I need or want.

The best is a macbook/PC desktop. Laptop' aren't really gaming machines, and Desktop should be used for power, not for graphics and on the go. I currently have a macbook, which I bought for gaming and audio/work (I thought the chip was good because it was a high number. Dumbass moment right there. >.>" The audio and work part is great, yet the gaming is left to be quenched by a gaming pc.

Same here... I love my MBP. I am not too happy with OSX 10.5, I think 10.4 was more stable.

Agreed! I personally think OS X10.5 is just a way for Apple to test/ready the features of Snow Leopard. ;)

For the amount of money people pay for Macs, I'd say his post is justified considering you can get blazing performance on PCs for quite cheap. And, sidepoint: Macs are ridiculously overpriced.

Unlike Windows, I found Macs very difficult to use if everything didn't work fine all by itself. If anything went wrong I found it hard to find settings to troubleshoot things. Granted the last time I touched a Mac was a couple of years ago but judging by the direction they have picked with iTunes I can't imagine it being much different. What is it you want to do with this system of yours anyways?

I see no reason to buy a MAC, if your a gamer then you need a pc, if you just dont want to get a virus then use Linux!

It depends, if you want it for gaming get a PC, i would prefer a mac though. The mac is better for school and stuff, and if you need to run windows for some reason you can install it on the mac.

Yes but then you pay the premium for the Mac hardware. If you just want to use Windows, go for the PC. If you prefer the Mac OS over windows, then go with a Mac. If you want a Mac and possibly windows down the road, get a Mac and dual boot it. (Don't care how they try to rename it, it will always be dual booting.)

Daytona you should get a medal, I've never seen the debate expressed so well. There is precious little reason to use a Mac over PC. These days it is all about personal preference if you choose a Mac whereas there are compelling reasons to choose Windows over the Mac.

I really can't say anything bad about either, they are different. I read it in an article I am not sure which but please correct me if I'm wrong but from what I've heard, PC wins 80% of the consumer market and 95% of the business markets. MACS are great for basic home needs, they are user friendly, revolve for the creative side of inidividuals (video editing, design, etc), and they cannot get viruses. The PC offers a wide variety of customization to suit your needs. I for oe, I need a new PC to run an animation software (MAYA unlimited) along with a musi software (Reason, or Acid Pro), but I want to play a game once in awhile so I went with PC. Building it with a fast Quad, a high end graphics card, an abundance of memory and harddrive, I dont see how a basic MAC can overpower that. In terms of quality, MAC, in terms of apportunity, PC. I hope I made the right choice to go with a PC, ill soon know.

Actually Apple have recommend Mac users to use an Anit-Virus for many years now....that's just blind Mac fanboys that say otherwise. If you dont want a Virus then get Linux as that really doesent need an anti-virus. Also for a basic home user all they probably need is Word and internet so i think anyone could figure out how to do that.

Get whatever you want. If you really want a Mac for whatever reason and don't care for PC games, then go ahead and get one. I prefer PC's for their customizability (both in terms of software and hardware), but it's all up to you in the end.

100% agreed Stevo! And like Daytona I never understood the 'MAC is better for school' argument... I always felt it's just that people think it's cool to stand out of the crowd by using a 'MAC'...

But why choose a Macbook/Pro over a Windows Laptop then? Are there really any benefits, unless you just want to get away from the wild wacky world of windows?
