I use my pc for gaming. I use my mac laptop for everything else.gp19
Same here... I love my MBP. I am not too happy with OSX 10.5, I think 10.4 was more stable.

[QUOTE="imprezawrx500"]pc, macs are only worth getting for video editing. Everything else runs faster and for less on pcsCellAnimationLOL! I'm curious to why you think that's amusing?

It depends, if you want it for gaming get a PC, i would prefer a mac though. The mac is better for school and stuff, and if you need to run windows for some reason you can install it on the mac.jrabbit99Yes but then you pay the premium for the Mac hardware. If you just want to use Windows, go for the PC. If you prefer the Mac OS over windows, then go with a Mac. If you want a Mac and possibly windows down the road, get a Mac and dual boot it. (Don't care how they try to rename it, it will always be dual booting.)

I really can't say anything bad about either, they are different. I read it in an article I am not sure which but please correct me if I'm wrong but from what I've heard, PC wins 80% of the consumer market and 95% of the business markets. MACS are great for basic home needs, they are user friendly, revolve for the creative side of inidividuals (video editing, design, etc), and they cannot get viruses. The PC offers a wide variety of customization to suit your needs. I for oe, I need a new PC to run an animation software (MAYA unlimited) along with a musi software (Reason, or Acid Pro), but I want to play a game once in awhile so I went with PC. Building it with a fast Quad, a high end graphics card, an abundance of memory and harddrive, I dont see how a basic MAC can overpower that. In terms of quality, MAC, in terms of apportunity, PC. I hope I made the right choice to go with a PC, ill soon know.Kamekazi_69Actually Apple have recommend Mac users to use an Anit-Virus for many years now....that's just blind Mac fanboys that say otherwise. If you dont want a Virus then get Linux as that really doesent need an anti-virus. Also for a basic home user all they probably need is Word and internet so i think anyone could figure out how to do that.
Get whatever you want. If you really want a Mac for whatever reason and don't care for PC games, then go ahead and get one. I prefer PC's for their customizability (both in terms of software and hardware), but it's all up to you in the end.
What makes me laugh is the "If you want to run Windows, run it on a Mac" argument. Why would you buy a Mac purely to run Windows?skapunkclarenceAnd pay twice the amount for it in the process!
[QUOTE="CellAnimation"] Because it's a statement based in BS. Macs are only worth getting for video editing... LOL.... EVERYTHING else runs faster.... LOL!Stevo_the_gamerFor the amount of money people pay for Macs, I'd say his post is justified considering you can get blazing performance on PCs for quite cheap. And, sidepoint: Macs are ridiculously overpriced.
100% agreed Stevo! And like Daytona I never understood the 'MAC is better for school' argument... I always felt it's just that people think it's cool to stand out of the crowd by using a 'MAC'...
Why did Microsoft name their OS Windows? Strange name!Elite-RealistWell its because the way it works is like have lots of....windows....i cant put it any better than that.
