[QUOTE="jun_aka_pekto"][QUOTE="Mickeyminime"]Some people at the game store, even Matalan told me people have to becareful what system people use and play games on, just because it works for most people, it may not work for others. Far Cry wont even install on 7, works on my friends XP though lol :(. My Uncle even said, you should have a program when its out, wait 2 years until all the bugs have been fixed then take it, otherwise your going to have problems that you may not understand and cant be fixed as its not known. Windows 7 does look nice, but it would seem Games are not 100% ready to be used for 7 yet :(Mickeyminime
I have the original release of Far Cry for the PC. It also had some install problems* with a virgin install of Windows 7. But, I ran Windows Update a few days later and tried installing far Cry once more. That time, Far Cry installed and played fine.

*Other games that had initial install problems were C&C: Generals, Rome: Total War, and Pacific Fighters. After running Windows Update that one time, they all installed fine
As for Dungeon Keeper, I can run the non-accelerated version via DOSBox or through XP in VirtualBox on my Win 7 PC. It's limited to 640x480 though either way.
One of the windows updates is what caused me to redo everything, The update finnished but wanted me to reboot, i got a message about the OS not being normal, or right. My bro said its nothing, he had it once before and all you need is a patch or another update to get it working. I didnt understand what he was on about, but he took too long, and the games where not installing at all, so i had to reboot it all again. Small game screens shouldnt be a problem, im using my 40inch tv :), however, sitting far back is annoying lol :(The problems with the games I mentioned were with the actual install. They'd encounter errors such as not being able to read the disc or corrupt file if I was trying to install a game demo. I think Windows Update downloaded and installed the required MS Visual C++ files. Since then, I've had no problems with most games. There's a handful that simply refuses to run such as Dungeon Keeper 1, IL-2 Forgotten Battles, and Quake 2. I've resorted to playing those games in VirtualBox running XP Home.
