Yeah, deffinately go for it if you're looking at a budget sound card. The beauty with sound cards is you dont have to spend $150 dollars to get a good one anymore, you can drop less and get great quality. For the price you will get some awesome crisp sounds from that card, what kind of speakers do you have?

Like this $45.99 Xtreme Audio version... I'd rather that over onboard or Audigy anyday... The Audigy is wonderful I had an Audigy OEM (bout the same as the SE) until I upgraded to the X-Fi and I would say the X-Fi is way superior...

X-Fi Xtreme Audio
X-Fi Platinum
X-Fi Platinum has much more to it and I like the console thing a lot. It has an equalizer (from which Xtreme Audio doesn't seem to have). X-Fi Xtreme Music does have this console thing (and, supposedly) the equalizer. The X-Fi Platinum seems to have only the drive bay as an extra element. The XtremeMusic thing doesn't have this drive bay but is otherwise identical and costs $50 less. I suggest using the Xtreme Music version instead.
