UUUGGGHHH!! can't find a straight answer on this question. I have a new EVGA 790I w/ on board sound and had a buddy sell me an old audigy 2 platinum with the front plug in access for my "chassis". I'm wondering if there's going to be a good amount of difference if I install this bad boy. I just keep getting this "i like coke, I like pepsi" argument.
Much love to GAmespot!!!!!

-evga 260 gtx

I was wondering if there's a big difference between onboard sound and a sound card. By sound card I mean a relatively cheap one, like ~$50. The onboard I currently have is Sigmatel Onboard.colonel55A card will provide better sound if you get a good one and will take less system resource, making your pc run a little faster
i heard that creative's sound card vista support is horrible. Is that true? (I'm running Vista Ultimate 64bit)colonel55
i have the theX-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional sound card. i'm using vista 32-bit and had no problems wid it
Asus or Auzentech. You'll need good speakers and/or headphones though, by that i mean something that costs more than the sound card :?X360PS3AMD05
Yeah that's the most important thing. If you don't have good speakers, forget about buying a sound card. They won't make a difference unless your speakers can take advantage of them.
Buy a soundcard because there is a possibilty of your onboard dying in the future.
Just make sure you dont get a creative soundcard as they install spyware.
