Online game??

What would you recommend if i am looking for a game where:

I can play online or LAN co-op with my friends.

with quests or missons to follow.

first person shooter.

Something kind of like Dead Island.

A form of sandbox. Where you can explore things, not like a closed world. 

It would be nice with second professions to pick.

And it takes place in the past or the present, it dosent have to be a realistic world, it could be fantasy also :D

Geez, alright. Well, as the others mention Borderlands 2 is probably a must if you have your friends, but melee combat is probably going to be a bit more difficult to find. If you like top-down games, Torchlight 1 & 2 are phenomenal, there's games light Chivalry and War of The Rose if you like mess around with medieval times, or if you just like goofy violence and tons of fun you can always play The Ship and Bloody Good Time, and lastly if you want to be more team based, you can try out AirBuccaneers or Ravaged although finding servers for those games are hard. indeed id then recommend guildwars 2 which emphasises 5 man party play and 6+ mobs for bigger larger scale operations. it also has "some" tps elements but is not in itself ana ctual TPS rather it is a real-time MMORPG
