I Got bored of most FPS's i have now, i want to try something new. Is there ANY game that's in an open world or has some RPG elements Like Stalker? i know of this game called Survarium Coming out but i can't wait, i heard of Arma II but it's Defenitley not my style, i tried the Free version, it sucked, at least in my opinion.

Prefererably , free to play, i have no money to buy games :(

First Crysis. Sure it doesnt offer the freedom of a trully open world game but it has huge maps and you can take different approach on your enemies While not an Fps Fallout 3 and Fallout NV

as stated above: fallout 3, fallout new vegas, and the STALKER series are definitely ones you should check out. far cry 2 was kinda meh but worth a try for sure in addition to those, though: borderlands borderlands 2 (coming out in september) dead island deus ex (kinda old at this point, but you can mod it if you feel as if its dated) deus ex human revolution postal and postal 2 (both old and very obscene) RAGE

The Deep Shadow Games: Boiling Point, White Gold and Precursors.

They are all very buggy but I enjoyed them a lot.

Far Cry 2, but you'll need some patience and a willingness to experiment (also, I recommend the Realism mod since it semi fixes the AI chasing you constantly issues and improves the gunplay).

The later Fallout games are also fun, but you'll want to look up some mods if you want the gunplay to be smoother since Fallout 3 doesn't have iron sights and both titles are rather clunky in combat with the lack of sprinting and giant hit points for everyone.

You also have ARMA II, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is incredibly "meh", but not outright terrible and its pretty open (though you can't go around exploring the world as you wish without getting yelled at or failing a timed objective).

Borderlands is also very fun, but you should play with friends. Its fun alone, but with friends its a blast. Same for Dead Island (and you don't even get firearms until 1/3 the way through the game).

RAGE is fun, oddly the open world itself is dull and it lacks RPG aspects aside from side missions, but the combat is amazing.

Finally, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. One of my favorite games of 2011, its not really "open world", its hub based but the hubs are completely open for exploration. Much like RAGE, a lot of the combat is interior based, but it does open up more then RAGE in combat (but RAGE also has a pretty open ended combat design, though not on the level of Deus Ex).

Was just about to mention this, while I've only played Boiling Point and Precursors, I can definitely say that their games have got a very strange appeal to them. I mean, they're extremely buggy and nothing is executed that well at all, but somehow they're still a ton of fun to play. Precursors was an especially ambitious project, combining an open world FPS with RPG elements and even adding some space sim to the mix (none of it really worked out perfectly due to a small budget, but its still fun nonetheless). Thankfully there's a lot of patches, both user-made and official for these games so be sure to search around a bit if you plan on buying them.

Far Cry 2, but its a very polarising game. I would say buy it, since its very cheap, and play it and see if you like it. Stick with it though, I hated it at first, but eventually I started to appreciate all the great things that FC2 does that other Fps don't (beautiful open world, freedom of how you do your missions, non scripted ai). And now it's my favorite singleplayer FPS this gen.

Yeah the first few hours are torturous and it is very repetitive, but once you start unlocking more gear and earning new missions it gets fun, especially when the plot starts taking some turns (since its a good plot that is otherwise ignored for 80% of the game).

Definitely get that realism mod though, otherwise the AI will chase you relentlessly for no reason and your weapons will require you to pump a hefty amount of ammo into people before they die.

First time I played Far DCry 2 I hated it. 4 years later I try it again on PC and I actually enjoyed it. You just have to overlook some of it's annoyances and get used to it. It does have it's flaws, but it's probably the most beautifully immersive open world I've ever played in. Plus the gameplay is a lot of fun. The unscripted AI and open-to-take-on-any-mission-any-way-you-want is really nice.

Just don't go in expecting a compelling story with great characters though. It's just a game about you being a hired gun in a war torn province taking on merc missions. Once you take the game for what it is, you'll find yourself liking it a lot more.

I second this even though he said he didn't like ARMA II. You just have to give it a chance and then you will love it.

Give borderlands a try its really fun and it has RPG elements. Others I can think of are Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas which are two of my favourite games.
