i am trying to play some games on my pc and they are are failing- it says that i do not have a recent enough version of Open GL- it says i need version 1.3 or over yet i do not know what version i have or what i need- i just got a brand new alienware with a geforce 8800GTX so i dont know what the problem is- if this should be in the hardware section im sorry- PLEASE HELP

install latest video card driver and latest Direct X
Installing a new version of DirectX won't do jack for OpenGL. They're two totally different APIs. OpenGL is integrated at the driver level, apparently, so updating your drivers might solve the problem.
