Opinion: Radeon x1950 Pro -> Radeon HD 4550 worthwhile?

Newegg is running a special and I'm trying to determine if a move from my aging x1950 Pro is worthwhile for a low-end 4550 card. I'm typically only running World of Warcraft and Command & Conquer titles at native 1680 x 1050.

All feedback is appreciated.

How much? At the very worst you could reduce your PC's overal power draw. If you care about such things.

It's only $20 after mail-in rebate, and I've had decent experience with Gigabyte's rebates before. Still, I'm not going to waste any money if it's not going to allow me to run the games I mentioned at improved settings, especially with Cataclysm on the horizon for World of Warcraft.

Maybe I'll just wait for the 6000 series.

teh hd 4670 will be the card you will want for this task it will mean the 7900 series and x1900 cards head on and crush em. with an d 4670 you can max out most c & c titles (dunno how tiberium twilight will fair). as for wow eh it will do the job

dont make me break out my CoD4 benches to proove you wrong dog cause i will. hd 4550 can play it rather well on meidum as opposed to the 9500gt which barely will run it on medium :P

a 4550 will give you less frames, you are lucky if you can get 4k in 3dmark06 and that is with a high end quad core.

Stick to the x1950pro it's better.

no not always its just ive handed ppl the option of those two often enough to know what im talkin about. its case specific and in this case i know im right :P. hd 4550 plays it on medium with 32ish fps 9500gt barely 15 fps. this of course assuming you buy a good hd 4550 a bad brand can land you below it. i believe the only good ones are the ones from HIS, sapphire and visiontech.
