optical mice are crap

Every damn optical/laser mouse i have ever owned they start to spin on you...while playing fast action fps games, even after cleaning them....ballmouse for the win...yea you gotta clean it every once in awhile but if you use a plastic mouse pad you wont have to clean it as much as using a cloth pad.

ballmice are alot more reliable.

I've had optical mice that use an LED do that on me, I haven't had a laser optical mouse do that to me.

What optical/laser mouses have you used. From my experiences a decent optical mouse is 100x better than balled mouses.ch5richards

A logitech mx510 800 dpi and some microsoft 800 dpi mouse, i know there's higher...dpi but i bet they will eventually start to spin on you also.

I have been using optical and laser mice for years, the only problems I have ever had have been getting hair at the lens, but once thats cleaned it's all good.

Yea i cleaned the lens they still will look up and start spinning sometimes, ballmouse is just more reliable aslong as it's clean always gonna work.

These mice are old, they work good at first but once you get some years old them i bet you they will do same crap, i never had a ballmouse do it.

Those are all LED optical mice, they are vulnerable to spin.

Laser optical mice in my experience don't suffer from the spin.

If there is really bright red coming from underneath, it's an LED optical mouse, if there is just a small lens and no real noticable light, it's laser.

Lmfao...i just literally put this ballmouse underneath the sink running water got soaked i took it apart dryed it and works great, this hp ballmouse is older than all my optical mouse and just feels more accurate than any other optical mouse ive tried will not spin.

my bro got this **** all nasty so i had to clean it lol.

i just took my damn optical and threw it away.

I know water/electronics=bad...but optical mice were acting like pos....and this ballmouse was all nasty so i was like screw it just tossed it in the sink running water all insides got soaked on the electronics board took it apart cleaned it up dryed the board off works new.

id like to see someone try that to optical mouse and still work.

BTW not how i clean stuff, i was pissed i didnt care.

Also note i never put any mouse in water just this ballmouse because i was pissed because all the optical mice i have suck so i didnt care if this ballmouse worked or not...but yep im using it now.

They would spin on plastic and cloth pads tried both.

I'll end up buying another optical basically im pissed because i tried to play quake 2 and the optical mouse i was using wouldnt even work worth a crap..probley get me highest dpi optical possible, but one thing most of the designs suck..this ballmouse has a really good design.

I have a Micro Soft wirless laser mouse and key board and they have been working for like 2+ years now and I havn't had a problem with them at all.

I too play fsb every once in a while and no spin for me. The only down side is that the mouse goes through batteries like crazy worse then the key board for some reason but not as bad as my camera that uses batteries boy that one eats them loike crazy.

On my Mom's pc she has a optical mouse and it works fine. She uses no mouse pad and it has been working just fine for at least a couple of months.

With the opticle you have more DPI...I have an Optical, I always have to turn down the sensitivity because of the DPI. ha ha only kidding I can do it on the fly.LILSMUCK

Ball mice are analog, so they don't even have to worry about things like DPI.

I agree that optical mice are far superior, but at least argue valid points, such as the low maintenance or better gaming designs.
