Things are broken all over the world at the moment. I'm in Australia and our dollar was something like USD$0.97 not too long ago, now it's under USD$0.70. It sucks. Oh well I saw it coming so I bought my new video card before the price hike. :)

....Those are in Canadian dollars

A quick currency conversion tells me that the canadian prices translate almost identically to the US prices you listed in your first post.

Go to shopbot.ca and find the cheapest E8400 then get NCIX to price match it and you can get it for $175.85. Newegg.ca prices are crap.

If you look in the top right corner of the page you linked it says:

"All prices shown in Canadian dollars unless otherwise specified."

The link you linked to was to Newegg's canadian site, Newegg.ca, not Newegg's American site, Newegg.com

Yeah economy is hitting everyone hard, although ive bought my new parts at the right time here in UK, a bit of shopping around and ive got a better system within budget as a lot of places are putting stuff on special offer :P
