@Juub1990: You're probably right, especially with consoles holding back most games. But, the occasional exclusive that pushes the bounderies may see a jump sooner. I know that the polygon counts in many Star Citizen ships are insane, which affects GPU performance, but the destruction and physics engines are likely complex, as well. I'm not saying that they will tax DDR3 to it's limits, but it's possible.
Also, I just noticed that your PC is a beast. I'm waiting for Zen before I build a new system. This old PC that I have now can max almost anything at 1080p/60hz, which are the specs of the HDTV that I use as a monitor.
It has a 4GHz Phenom II X4 and a 1.19 GHz HD7950 (4 TFLOPS). The CPU maxes out at just 40C during Prime95 stress tests, so I can push it much further, but the main performance jump comes from overclocking the IMC in the CPU, since that is the CPU's weakest point. I could also push the IMC and RAM further, but it's plenty enough for now. I have the IMC at 3GHz (+50%), and the DDR3 RAM it controls is at 1525MHz (7-7-7-19-26-1t), which are awesome numbers for a Phenom II memory controller. I'll push everything higher in the near future, but I just haven't needed to yet. I'm guessing it'll end up at 4.4GHz with a 3.2GHz IMC controlling RAM at 1600MHz w/ lower timings.
