PC cant find hard drive - Need help fast!!

Today I started my PC. POST detected storage deviced much longer than before. When it was done, a black screen appeared. In the upper-left corner there was "_" flashing. And it freezed. I tried to reboot many times. Then it said to insert media in my DVD-RW and press a key. I inserted Win7 install disk. It started installing, but it didnt detect any hard drives to install windows. I checked BIOS. SATA 1,2,3,4 are Not Detected. It worked yesterday. Whats the problem? please help!!!

Yup, different SATA cable didnt work. I will try it in a different PC if i can.

Since it said "flashing," it sounds like the BIOS attempted to update.. Unless something else was flashed, like the hard drive firmware. It's always good to have an Ubuntu Live disk sitting around somewhere when this stuff happens, or a laptop that can burn disks.

Either the HDD failed, some firmware is corrupt, or the PSU is failing, which is unlikely IMO. Look into updating the firmware for both the BIOS and the HDD. Of course make sure the molex connection is secured in the HDD, or even try another one for the heck of it.

Please check your cables and pins is it correct, check the jumper whether its on master or slave.elabby
