pc cant read some games?

hey my pc is not reading some games it can read dvd's and some other games like starcraft. i have devil may cry 4 i was wondering if i install it on my laptop (my laptop cant handle it) and then without playing it just transfer all the game files from my external hard drive to pc. will it work?

what dvd drive have you got? It could be that the games are burnt on dual layer discs and need a drive that can read them. That happened to me, I had to upgrade.
