Hey, I was wondering if my computer could run TES III: Morrowind.
It's specs are all pretty good, except it doesn't have a pixel/vertex shader.
i know my lap top's kinna assed up but apart from that, can it stilldo good withHalf life 2?
My lap top specs
CPU: core duo T2250
RAM: 2 GB
video card: geforce go 7300 (512.0mb)
windows: xp home edition
AMD Siempron 1.8GHz, 64MB graphics card, 1024 MB of RAM, faster than dialup/not quite broadband internet connection.
Windows Vista
Can I run?
The game: Guild Wars
For anyone out there who doesn't know, give this website a shot, it is pretty decent at notifying you whether your machine can run a game or not. I have used this countless times, so see if this fits your needs!

Hi, I have a PC that runs Vista 32bit. I didn't bother to read through all of the posts so I'm sorry if its been discussed already.
I am unable to get Battle for Middle Earth 2 and its expansion to play. It installs properly, but when starting the game a splash screen pops up and it just hangs there for a minute and then it pops up saying the program is not responding. Anyone know how to fix it? I tried running it in compatibility mode to no avail.
My specs:
OS: Vista 32bit
Processor: Intel quad core 2.9ghz overclocked to 3.6
Ram: 2GB 1gb x 2 ddr2
Video: 2 x 8800GTX Nvidia cards in SLI config
I dunno what other info you guys need.. its a top of the line system other than my 2gig memory.
I can run most all of my games without issues, but I bought the triple pack of BFME2/1 only to find vista has issues with it. For reference my system runs the following games without issues. Civ 4, WC 3, Oblivion, Titan quest (Frequent crashes, but it works), and Company of Heroes. I can run all of these games on maximum settings without any issues so i doubt its hardware related.
Thanks.

Here is a link to that website, if you don't like sites downloading stuff to your computer and uploading then don't use this site.
It downloads something to your computer that it then uses to tell what you have for a system.
other than that it does work

FYI. the folks running the place are either less than diligent, too overworked to keep track, or something. They will often set up a test for an unreleased game based on the estimates issued well before the release. Quite often, those are very optimistic, pie in the sky dreams from the marketing /publicity types. A few weeks later, when the game is closer to its release, and the developers are telling the tale a lot closer to the actual requirements needed, the second estimate will never be picked up by the Sys-Req database.
In the case of NWN2, there were about three pre-release comments about System Requirements, and the only one they ever had was the very first one. When the game came out, the Lab's tests were nowhere close to telling the real story. And they stayed wrong like that for about two months after the release. Oblivion was a big hit right from its release, and in that case, the estimates and the real System Requirements were not so far apart, except for including all of the awful nVidia FX cards as being supported, and that was changed after the release to the FX 5700 and upward from the FX generation.
As I recall, it only took the Lab about ten days to two weeks to catch up on that ("only" is a relative term, a lot better than the two months and up for NWN2, but not really "good"). The D2D site took more like six months to sort out the errors they had listed for Oblivion's Requirements.

So if you want to know for sure if your pc can play a game ask here, is there any web sites simmular to the systemrequirermentslab.com that do work?
I mean why is everyone with a super rig, aksing questions in here. Do u just go to the shop and ask for the best system, and if u do, then u have the best and yes u can run the best games on max settings...
Its like i know a lot about computers and when i buy a rig i buy it so i can play my games on best settings, i see so manny with good rigs asking questions in here... Dont u know what kind of computer u have? or do u just ask for fun??? I would recomend ppl that is going to buy a new computer to ask around first so you just dont buy some **** u think its the best becasue the guy in the shop tell you...
Just me being curious :) Have a nice day

I don't know where to find answer for this question so thought I'd try here. I bought my daughter the pc game ratatouille. the instrustion book provided does not give all the keys to press for the rat'a actions. my daughter is stuck at the rat jumping to grab the net. I tried using THQ support, but have received no reply. how can I find complete keyboardinstructions for the rat's actions?sunandmoon1029
This thread is not meant for these kind of purposes. It is about PC game requirements, not whatever issues you may have with the game. Feel free to ask this in our PC Games forum.
i recently bought a notebook and dont know much about video game compatiblility. i have heard that halo doesnt take much to play but i want to be sure. My specs are:
intel core 2 due processor t5250 (1.5 GHz)
200GB hard drive
2048MB ddr2 sdram (2 dimm)
intel graphics media accelerator x3100 with shared graphics memory
also i run on windows vista home premium.
So can anyone tell me if i can play halo1 or halo 2..if u have no idea plz dont post, also if u think it can play but it would be very slow plz tell me. thx in advanced.
AoE-3 is very Low-Tech compared to new games, any PC, practically, from the past six years, depending on video graphics, should be good enough for it. I don't have the "Recommended" requirements at hand, but those are equally lenient, AFAIK.
Civilization 4 has rather lenient minimum requirements, and also relatively lenient set of Recommended Requirements, but your PC doesn't reach that level. You should be aware that the key element in determining whether you can run games is always the video graphics procesor, which you haven't mentioned. In the case of Civ 4, it's hardly tough at all, though.
Kiwi u completely rong. I downloaded the demo and played it 10 times. Everytime i got more then 1 city it would slow down really bad and then just freeze. I haven't tried aoe3 yet but from the system requirements it looks like my comp wont be fast enough.
Anyway i dont blame u my comp sucks monkey balls and i didnt give much stats on my comp anyway. Thx though.

Hey all,
i dont have any games im in dire need to play, but i was wondering...
my graphic card is an intel 945gm express chipset...it saysUP TO128mb but on my display properties it says total available is 224mb...but then states my video system memory is only 32mb...wtf?!could anyone be kind enough to explain what it is going on about..im a noob and in need of some help.
i do the system requirement lab scan for warcraft...everything passes with flying colours..but it says my graphic card is only 32mb when i mentioned above it says 224mb..is there a way to change the 32 up to 224?
or does the card "automatically incrase the size capacity when a more demanding application is being used i.e. a game? that is just a guess..so please dont laugh too hard if im mistaken
please help :( and thanks in advance guys
oh my spec is duel core 1.6hz | 2gb ram | intel 945gm express and would that run neverwinter nights 2??

You've *GOT* to know that any PC matching that descriptive PC above is really a terrible thing, and that Bioshock isn't out yet (so that even if you hadn't written a funny PC's components down, no one could answer anyway). That CPU is a five or six year old antique (yes, it is -- antiquity arrives rapidly for PCs), the video card is a total joke, it's so awful, and I still think you've started the thread as a come-on of some kind just to see how many people would be insulting and unpleasant when they describe that decrepit junker you created as a pretended system. Yes, I've said that it's a form of trolling . .

well..i don't know much about PC hardware..i just asked..besides my Pc is running shooters like quake and Prey fine..so i just asked..you don't have to be that mad. The reason i asked is because i don't own a 360 and i can only wish that this game would come on Ps3. So i asked.
Hi Dudes :) how are you all ? can someone please tell me
if i can play the new games that are comeing to pc on my

thanks:D
The only "3.7 GHz" Intel CPU that Tom's Hardware seems to know about (chart URL below) is/ was the Extreme Edition Presler with a 3.73 GHz clock speed. While available, it was one of the three fastest P4s ever made, and had an MSRP of $1000. I find the matchup of *that* CPU with a little child's toy version of a video card (at least when we think of BALANCE, a $75 video card versus a $1000 CPU is absolutely silly!), well it's just ludicrous, to say the least.

So it is actually possible to play a DX10 game on Windows XP using DX9??
Also, would you think that an nVidia 8600 GT with 256Mb GDDR3 video memory would run Crysis, Bioshock, etc.??
I know my CPU will run it even if it is only an AMD 4200+ Dual Core X2, I'll get it overclocked soon enough. I've also got 2Gb of physical memory and a 650W PSU. The GPU is the only thing I'm concerned about since it has just 256Mb memory.
VRAM is important when you have a large screen display and will run at resolutions such as 1900 by 1200 upward, but an 8600 isn't fast enough, nor does it have the 256 bit memory system, to use 512 MBs.
Guessing about games that aren't out yet is silly from my point of view, so I won't. Dx10 is part of Vista so far, and there simply is nothing out there worth playing (again, IMO) that isn't both XP and Vista compatible. The Microsoft game stuff doesn't count so far.
I have a P4 3 Ghz, 1.5 Gb Ram, ATI X1300 Pro 256 mb video card, a 120 Gb samsung hard drive at 7200 rpm. Can I run:
Oblivion
Lost Planet (dx 10 version?)
And will I be able to run:
Crysis
Gears of War
If so, how would my pc fare? I haven't been playing pc games lately and I know it's not the ultimate computer, but hey, it's more than 3 years old and I really don't have the money to get a new one :(
Hi all. I was wondering and thinking of what games I will be able to play once I get a nee video card (preferably an 8800 GTS w/ 640mb). As of right now, these are my system specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 @ 2.13 Ghz
1 gig of ram from Kingston
Nvidia GeForce 7300 GS video card
250 gigs of HD
19 in. Widescreen LCD (Acer) Monitor
_____________________________________________
Now, I will deffinately be upgrading my video card and ram. But can anyone give me some suggestions as to what cards I should get to be able to play games like Crysis and Gears of War (ALSO will this game be for Vista, XP, or both?????)? As for my ram, I am thinking of getting 2 more gigs of ram but will I be needing the extra gig of ram or is 2 gigs or RAM just fine???
Thanks for all the help guys.

Unlikely, but truthfully unknown. It's not out yet.

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=369&card2=476
The video card is awfully poor, the CPU is merely "rather poor". Only the RAM is sufficient. Oblivion requires a "600" or better video card, Starting from a bottom level of an X1600 Pro or a 6600 GT, and really wants an "800" level in anything older than the 7600 GT card, which does quite well in that game, but also requires more power supply support than the X1600 Pro does, as well as somewhat more current than the 6600 GT demands. Your card, nor any of those named above, will run a Dx10 version of any game. Not at present, and in the future, it will have to be via an amateur hack to try to make it work.
I'll have to look up "Gears of War", since I thought that was a console game, not for PCs. Yup. There are no official system requirements because it doesn't exist yet.

I've had no trouble playing Battlefield 2142 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R without any frame rate issues. Both on max settings. I don't play games on high resolutions as THAT, more 1024x768.
When I decided to buy a new computer not long ago, I got the 8600 because it was a good price and had good specs. I can't upgrade to the cheapest 8800 at the moment as I don't have a job, therefore no income, so I'm stuck with the 8600. Its not failed me yet.
Wow, I love what you guys have here.
No, you cannot play a Dx 10 game on a Dx9 system, that is, unless the game runs in both Dx9 and Dx10 (like Crysis). You see,a lot of games thatcameout have Dx9 and Dx10 compatibility (Company of heroes, Supreme Commander, etc). The companies do that to make sure that their games will last longer aseye candy.
Now, you can't play a Dx10 game on a compwith XP. What I was saying was you can play Crysis in Dx9 on XP. DX 10 is only for Vista. You can play Crysis on XP using DX9c, but it'll look terrible compared to what it would look like in Vista with DX10.
No offense, but the 8600 sucks. The 8500 has more VRAM (512), but a lower clock speed. Plus, It's cheaper and it's DX10 compatible.
One thing, Nobody but the developers will know how good an 8800 GTX or any Dx10 cardis in DX10 until it comes out. Who knows, the 8800 GTX might be obsolete in another year or two.

Yeah, Ill be happy to! You willprobally need more than 2 gigs. 4 gigs will be ideal, since it will really make a difference with Vista and even in the future. 1 Gig is obsolete right now.
I reccommend that you get any DX10 card you can afford, try the 8800 GTS 640 MB edition. Forget about the cheaper 320 mb, you can't even play Quake 4 in ultra with it, you need 512 for that. If you don't have enough money for the 8800, get the 8500. It's a lower end card and has alot more ram, but the ram is slower and its GPU itself is clocked pretty slow. I think its clocked at 450 mbs.

[QUOTE="cbmidge"]i have purchased Guild Wars Factions and Counter Strike Source about a month or 2 ago. Counter strike just wouldn't work at all. and when it did, lag was terrible. With guild wars, it works decent, at time it lags, and the loading from place to place takes a while, but in randomly has moments where it lags, then stops. The computer im using is a HP Pavilion 743. it ha 512MB of ram, Pentium 4 processor, windows xp, and i believe its a 120 gb hard drive. its about 8 years old, and everything is stock on it (family comp). Im going to build my own when school starts, but i just play game to pas the summer bye. any suggestions on how to make the games run faster. Ive talked to my parents about upgrading the ram and hard drive, but they are total noobs. I change all the settings to low, and those 2 games still run slow. Well, ill do with what i can for now, thanx.whgresiakIf you have a firewall running, that will cause lag in online games. If you don't have one, you'll prob need to upgrade the RAM at least.
You probably have an onboard integrated video card too. So you need to get a video card or just build a new computer. I reccomend the later.
Onboard video chips ("IGPs") weren't as common back then as they are now. The older video cards were only moderately costly compared to what came thereafter, and the IGPs at the time were extremely crude. If the PC will play either of those games in any Low Quality manner, it almost certainly has an actual, discrete video card of some kind. It also is so old that only an AGP1 or plain PCI slot is likely to be available for video upgrade.
(Edit: I checked the GW system requirements, and the T&L need was there (it needsa a 3rd generation 3D card). IGPs didn't have that 3D capability when the PC involved was new, and Intel's IGPs didn't have it until last year.)
To answer your question, Gears Of War was confirmed on E3 2007 on Xp and Vista.
2 GiG of ram is fine with Vista, unless you have more money to spend. 8800 GTS 320 MB is perfect for everything at 1600-1200 resolution.
Above that resolution Radeon HD 2900XT or 8800 GTS 640 MB. It will run everything and you will save money.
If you're a PC gamer, my experience and many of my long years friends it to stick with XP for time being. Vista still has work to do.
That pretty much summons it.
i agree with you... To those who thinks that having or acquiring a windows Vista is cool, better think twice coz acquiring it is a scam. Why? First you bought the VISTA about $200 or $190 plus thats not all... if you look some are missing and you must download it from microsoft and it will cost you around $50. VISTA will run some games but not all and while your run games that are supported you sacrificed some you usually do in XP that are only compatible with XP and some drivers won't support VISTA or VISTA won't support some drivers and vice versa. To answer your question, Gears Of War was confirmed on E3 2007 on Xp and Vista.
