I don't like them at all TBH. and I hate when console guys think thats all we PC gamers have

Haven't tried one in a while, the last one I tried crashed on me, so I went on to other genres.topsemag55lolwut? An RTS game crashed on you so you decided to avoid the genre? That makes no sense at all.
I love Starcraft II. I own Empire Total War but I don't play it anymore. Most strategy games get boring to me after a pretty short time.
i do like them, but i don't play them as much as rpgs.
total war is my favourite, COH is also great.

i like strategy games but not my favorite but i really dont like rpgs and also total war rocks!
I love RTS games, I am also pretty good at them, But online is usually filled with Unit Spamming So I do stay away from it on most RTS games.
One of my favorite Gaming series is RTS C&C.
I mean I love Starcraft (haven't played 2) Warcraft was ok, I love COH, WIC. Just C&C holds a special place in my heart.
I love RPGs as well.. Matter of fact the only games I don't really like are Sports games.. (aside from Racing, and the occasional wrestling game)
Well, I started WarCraft III when it was new, but I got stuck at the Malganis mission and gave up. Maybe I should return. It was an extremely fun ride while it lasted.
Oddly enough, as a little kid, RTS games were the first games I've ever played, and I thank them for getting me into gaming. I've got a deep affection for the old school westwood games. Yeah I know starcraft is the best RTS ever made, but no game to me is as memorable than the old school C&C games. I loved those hilarious cutscenes from RA1 and RA2, and loved the gritty, wasteland atmoshpere of tibeium sun.
But I didn't actually like the genre until I started getting good at RA2. I dunno as a kid, I think I loved the C&C rater than liking the genre as a whole.
I like RTS games. As it is right now, most of the games I own or have installed are RTS games. I just got World In Conflict in the mail yesterday.
I've tried a few, most recently Empire: Total War. I would love to get in to them but I'm just no good.

Just looking at those Warhammer games makes me want to put a gun in my mouth, I don't know how anyone can play that crap.
I've never been a fan of RTS due to the fact that I haven't ever really played one. I've heard great things about Civ4, but there is no demo so I can't be sure if it's worth buying, I just haven't wanted to take the risk on a few lost dollars. I'd love to play RTS games, I'm waiting for SC2 to drop in price, but I may be waiting for a life time. Every time I have tried to play an RTS game I couldn't figure out wtf to do. Although I played some of the SC2 campaign and it was pretty helpful in explaining everything to me.
what is it about warhammer that you hate so much?A combination of the artstyle/lore/factions...some of the lamest crap I have ever seen.

Civ IV does have a demo. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/civilizationiv/download_6140361.html?sid=6140361&om_act=convert&om_clk=files&tag=files%3Btitle%3B6
Civ IV is a turn based strategy game though, not an RTS.
Strategy games are my least favorite genre of games. Those games require way too much thought for me to enjoy them in any way. I'm not very intelligent and prefer my games to be pretty simple.
Strategy along with RPG are my favorites. However, I prefer single player more than multiplayer. Most strategy games are pretty short in single player. Well not really short, just they don't feel like there is much replay value. On the other hand RPGs, I can try out all sorts of interesting character builds. The gameplay is very different each time. Civilization is pretty awesome though. I play a game every couple weeks, and it never feels boring. I also got really into Starcraft 2 for about a year (Feb 2010 beta to Feb 2011). I got into Diamond league which was my goal for a while, but the competition is just too intense for me. I get too nervous. My heart rate goes up. It's not healthy.

For example, I will never buy another Activision game, because of what they did to users who had problems with Prototype.

I mean personally if the game is good I'll grab it, never cared about the ones who makes it. Plus, I never had problems in Prototype.
I love'em all. The old school command and conquer type games, the new RTT's like World in Conflict and DoW 2 (this is my favorite genre for competitive multiplayer), just got into the Total War series with Shogun 2 and I already want more.
Its the one genre that hasn't been, and wont be, impacted by console development. It is also the genre that sees the most dramatic changes between installments, the most inventive and experimental features toyed with.
People who find the games boring aren't playing the right ones. I don't know of any FPS or action game that gets as intense or involving as a good close game in DoW 2 or SC 2.
I have had matches in DoW 2 where I feel physically drained by the end because of the amount of focus and effort they required on my part. No other genre provides that level of intensity.
I personally think that SC2 is much more intense than DoW II :PI love'em all. I used to, but then they generally turned into multiplayer-centric and shallow games. Detailed and through plot turned into "balanced factions"...lengthy and fulfilling campaigns turned into "competative and active community"
I miss the days of Homeworld and C&C, where the focus was on the singleplayer and the multiplayer was not too shabby.
I would vote for option 2 but that last bit about JRPGs irks me; should've left that out. Anyway, I don't play strategy games at all. The only one I've ever been serious about (in 2006) was the WH40K: Dawn of War series. I just hate micromanaging units...WCIII was a nightmare for me, though SC was bearable for me.
They're my favourite games. There's just something about manipulating groups of combatants into winning against larger, stronger groups of combatants and then laughing in the other commander's face.
i'm just having a short break from Shogun 2,
Seriously guys i've spent more time on the Total War series than i have on any single girl i've dated
