Deus Ex
System Shock 2
Falcon 4.0
X3: Reunion
Homeworld series
Crysis series
Neverwinter Nights series
World of Warcraft
EVE Online

Some of those arent my favorite games, or even ones I still play, but I just see them as only good on PC.

In addition to this I'm going to add Starcraft and CS due to both really incorporates plenty starting with great gaming communities, great accessibility across hardwares and incredible gameplay that makes these games age really well.

Deus Ex and System Shock 2 are for you, then, as they are FPS-RPG hybrids. I recommend Deus Ex first; I think you can get it off Steam for 9 bucks or something!

If youre looking for an RTS, then I suggest getting homeworld. It has a good story, amazing missions, and its a really neat concept...the best thing to happen to the genre since Dune 2.

Neverwinter Nights is a good, ****c DnD RPG. NWN 2 is a more recent game that might be more stimulating; the older ones (expansions too) are good, but theyre slow compared to more recent games.

system shock 2 is like deus ex; its an FPS-RPG hybrid, only it doesnt really have NPC interaction (thats ok though, the whole idea is youre on this ship relatively alone).

NWN is an RPG, yes.

no no no...NWN2 is like Baldurs Gate, IcewindDale, etc...its nothing like Oblivion.

Get Deus Ex, you wont regret it. Its a first person action-RPG...you should like it.

Operation: Flashpoint is a game that's highly underappreciated. It's one of the games that made me love PC FPS's.

Then we have the CRPG's, but I won't even mention them, we all already know them ;)

MECHWARRIOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a bunch of RTS's (COH, DoW, SupCOM, WiC, Sins-I'd like to see a console gamer play this one  )

Great RPGs (KotOR even though it's not exclusive, the WITCHER, um...WoW/WAR?)

FPS (Battlefield, Obox, CSS and rest of source* multiplayer, UT, Crysis,)

Plus the games I missed plus the games that you can't really categorize

The ending of Max Payne 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode Two because it showed that games can have an emotional impact now that is as good as, sometimes stronger, than that of film.

I had a breakdown playing San Andreas. "Loser please tell me about this mission you couldn't complete"

"Well doctor. It was called Supply Lines and I find myself constantly fallinggggggggggg"

Crysis? Bloodlines? Are you kidding me? How the hell do those games showcase the advantages of PC gaming when games such as those can just as easily be ported to consoles and work perfectly fine?

Games like Arcanum, Jagged Alliance 2, X-Com, Darklands, Planescape Torment etc. are the reason PC Gaming is so much superior to consoles, not shallow garbage like Crysis, Half Life 2, Bloodlines etc.

Definitely Operation Flashpoint.

It's so complex in its control scheme, even the bloody keyboard doesn't work 100% well with it.

_Memento_

HL2 is neither garbage nor shallow. And Crysis would not be portable to console without technical limitations.

Any enjoyable RTS game is distinctly PC. Also, the best non-JRPGS are usually on the PC. That, FPS with a keyboard and mouse, and MMOs.

I know those are somewhat broad, but those are my favorite genres, and thats why I love PC gaming.

In what respect is HL2 "deep"? Not in gameplay or story, that's for sure.

Anyway, I don't think that HL2 is "garbage" but it sure as hell doesn't apply as a contender in this thread, when it's playable on consoles as we speak. Not "perfectly playable" as the PC version is, but it works on a console.

I would say it has a deeper physics system than most games, as to is the way in which the story is told and conveyed.

when i first played hl2 i said wtf where is half lfie why this game is such a NOT using guns for combat and so many borrrring puzles but the truth is hl2 is one of the most polish fps eg fear all the level the same enemy killing in the same tight coridors and the same guns, zzzzz its getting borring crysis island islands kill koreas, kill koreans, but in hl2 serires you dont know what will happen, eg metro police chasing, fall down to a hole fight head crabs grab a boat shoot down choppers get into a zombie infested tonwn and use the gravity gun since you got no ammo, or later on to the countryside? or the tripod rockelauncher busting and the mosnters coming out of the sand, sure aint proper as a first person shooter but its proper as a oldschool first person shooter that something will actually happen, new fps are like playing halo the same thing all over the game, so id stick with oldchool fps!
