last year I built a pretty decent PC (check my sig) and i really like playing games on pc, but i have an issue with not being able to like sit back on a couch or recliner while playing. anyone else have this problem? also, can anyone explain what makes pc games much better than console ports? because as far as I've been able to tell they're pretty much equivalent.

If you want to play on a couch or whatever, hookup your pc up to your tv and play with a gamepad. Or put a recliner in front of your PC desk lol. I prefer playing at a desk anyhow so no I don't have that problem.

Get a 360 controller (USB, not wireless with the plug and play), and plug your computer into your TV. Preferably with an hdmi. Theres that problem solved.

1-Connect your PC to the televisor in order to play in a couch if you like it more. Looks like this:

2-Your PC is very powerful. Can run any multiplatform game at X2 720p and in most of cases at X2 the franerrate available in console, with higher level of detail and better filters and effects. Also, a lot of games in PC can support mods, which aren't available in consoles except UT III in PS3. Finally, software in PC is cheaper.

I can recline back on mine whether the PC is in the den or in the family room esp with wireless keyboard and mouse. I might even buy a couple of XBox 360 controllers for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light when the PC version releases towards teh end of the month

I play on a tv with a mouse and keyboard on a futon. Use some logic. Video output. Longer cables/ wireless devices. Why wouldn't it be possible?

@Ondoval: Is that table pulling out of itself? O.o @jun_aka_pekto: I have the exact same joystick I used to have my computer set up at the foot of my bed, so I would be able to wake up and just start gaming in comfort :D

I really do not understand where people come from that the consoles are the only machine capable of being played from a couch. I have my PC hooked up to a 24" monitor and a 37" HDTV. If I want to relax and game on the couch I can do that on the 37" TV, if someone wants to watch the TV I can simply switch back to gaming on my 24" monitor without unplugging a single thing.

The PC is a versatile beast that opens up options that are never going to be available on the consoles. You want to play PC games on the couch then there is nothing stopping you from playing PC games whilst sitting on the couch.

I have my bed right next to my desk so depending on the type of game I just turn my monitor and sit in a pile of pillows with a controller. Chair at the desk is fine.

1. You not giving us alot of information. What games exactly are you measuring that causes your games to look "equivalent"? Thats all based on your settings. You have a 5770/i5 quad which at a base will be higher graphically then either console on multiplatform games.(fyi 5770 is a mid range card. You really should have something stronger for the build you have... I digress)

2. Why can't you play on your coach? If you aren't comfortable using a keyboard and mouse on them then why not use a wireless 360 or ps3 controller? I have a wiimote, 360 controller, ps3, ps2, and 2 snes game pads hooked to my computer as we speak.

3. Games by they nature will look better on a Pc as long as you have hardware to support it. Your 5770 should be up to playing alot of games at resolutions over console standards of 720p, should be able to enjoy severel games in DX10/11 that consoles cannot, and run at a higher frame-rate. At the very least, you should be able to mess with the AA and shader options etc to improve the quality well over the console counterparts. Maybe you haven't messed with the settings of your games?

4. Outside these basics, you also have games with DEEP graphical Mods can truelly showcase your PC hardware video quality. That is also something that would put this equivalency to rest. That though will depend on what games you are comparing to make that claim in the first place.

You must draw the table to you in order to elevate the surface:

But I must say that I enjoy more to play in my desktop instead of the couch. Most of my favourite games are onñine competitive shooters, and I need to sit in a more tense attitude to play:

meh, I play my games from my couch and multiplat games always look like a blurry stuttery mess on 360 compared to pc in my experience.

I prefer sitting on my couch and playing games on the tv. Unfortunately, when I play PC games through my tv it gets a really bad "tearing" effect which is only fixed with vsync and you know what that does for frame rates, bleh.

vsync just syncs your frame rate to your refresh rate. Granted if your PC can't keep up with 60 fps it can be a problem, but triple buffering will often solve that.

Wired is optimal for tournaments and pro competitions, but I use a Razor Mamba mouse in wireless mode and a Logitech Di Novo 2 as wireless keyboard and both works well in casual gameplay. My k/d ration in BC 2 is around 1.26 and I think that a wired control interface will not change my ratio.

If I go online a lot, I switch to wired keyboard and mouse. But say I play Crysis (singleplayer), the wireless keybard and mouse are good enough so long as there's enough juice left.
