Recently I've been playing games I never finished.( Doom 3, Quake 4 ieg)

At the moment I'm running Doom 3

Here's the problem...

There is slight shudder to the screen... a dudder?

It has nothing to do fps ( that stays locked at 60) or screen tearing...

It's lhard to explain..

If it wasn't for the fact that fraps was sticking at 60 ( 11x8...V-sync on...Maximum settings) I would say it was fps...

Hardly any of the lip sync matches...animations have pauses..I mean they are just micro seconds off or slow....

I first thought it might have been the mods...( Ungibabble and Falkiens Flashight)

But I did a complete re-installation and it still exists.

I could have also have sworn that when I first reinstalled ( 2 days ago)it and played it it was alot smoother..

Maybe it was just my imagination...I just know it's startin to hurt my eyes and give me a headache,,,

I reloaded other games to check to see if it was something major ( card, cpu etc) but they all ran fine...

I also played them for awhile to see if I was getting motion sickness or any computer related illness ( siezures, nausea etc)

Played STALKER, FEAR for hours...no headache like in Doom 3

Like I said it is like a shudder ..

Is it because Ii'm not playing at my native resolution ? ( Which is 16x10)

Because I'm not using the included DX setup?

Rig

Q6700 E

4 gigs ddr 2

8800GTX

22 Ultra Sharp WS

XP SP2 ( holding off with Vista)

All latest drivers,,,( DX SP2)

Could it be sound issue ( EAX) ? I do not have any sound corruption though.

All I know the game is unplayable...

It's like it's being delayed in syncing...just a micro second...but enough to really mess with my head,

I've adjusted settings ( gamma, brightness in case it was the constant darkenss that was bugging me) ..no luck...

So whats up with my shudders...dudders..???

ive had similar problems, and it turned out to be the low refresh rate. Try setting the refresh rate of your monitor at 75Mhz instead of 60Mhz.
