Thanks for sharing.bigmit37
Yeah thanks OP! :)
But I just wonder... how the hell with very minor cons like that get only a 90?!? Seems like that would be a 95 at least!

perhaps the fact that it's already been released for the 360 is negatively impacting the score? but 90 is good. i'm excited. i think i'll get it, once i upgrade my pc and the price drops below $30.

yeah that's what i'm guessing. but yeah true, 90 is good and especially if the score is being negatively impacted by the fact that it's been released already for the 360, this should be one hell of a game :D But yeah the bold is like exactly what i'm doing hahaa
gold is more for 360 users. you need gold to play online on xbox. anyway i dont think ill buy it. gears just isnt my kind fo game. its a great idea and im sure tons of people will love it, but the whole cover system and active reload one shot kills with sniper is so dumb.END3R330
that's funny, cuz the gameplay you mentioned (cover system, active reload, one shot kills) is what makes me want to buy it. :)

LMAO! exactly the same here brah! :P
what do you get for having a gold account anyway? all iv heard from sites like this is "extra goodies"...what the hell does that mean?marriage0
I found this link which talks about gold accounts. With gold, you can play against xbox 360 owners, get dedicated servers, have achievements and, worst of all, you have to pay to have VoIP ingame. It costs $50 a year, but normal multiplayer is still free (the silver account).

What exactly is a dedicated server? I wanna know becuz it seems to be a big issue with ppl who want to play Gears :?
I'm glad to see that it's getting good reviews. Unfortunately I'm picking up CoD4 this week, and probably won't be tired of it until Crysis comes it. This one will be bought sometime in December I'm thinking.
Still, I'm looking forward to it. I still haven't invested in a HD TV and 360, so I've never even played it.

Dedicated S is a type where the host can't play - he creates the game and eventually watches the match - he CAN'T join the game.

it means they want you to pay out 15 freaking dollars or whatever it is for "goodies", aka mostly useless stuff that some intern dreamt up to get himself noticed. Such a freaking scam.

Ahhh I see. Thanks for the clarification! :)
Once there is a good host and everyone has a good connection there should be no lag. Iplayed a few of the xbox live games and never experienced lag or had any problems dominating the host.
Epic said they might add it later. With the cost of dedicated servers I doubt that many people would be willing since it's only 8 players.
Windows live is complete BS... its doing nothing and charging for it.
Already am paying for live on my 360 sure as hell aint going to do that on my PC not thank you Id rather use that money and buy 2 more games.

First off Windows live will help to counter cheaters. If you think someone is cheating you can just bann them from their nickname and bam never see them again.
If you have live on a 360 you use the same account on the PC. Only reason why you want to get gold on pc if you don't have it is if you're interested in gamerscore, multiplayer achievements, and your ranking. Also to host your own games.

You only need to pay for one account. If you have Live gold on the 360 it automatically transfers to the PC.
I don't see it as being a big deal for pc only gamers, but if you already have a 360 account it's a very nice freebie.
It was also foolish to think Vista was going to give big improvements right out of the gate. Anyone mildly in the know knew it was going to take time to become a worthy replacement for XP. Same thing happened in the 2K to XP transition.
Might want to check your facts before telling whomever to eat whatever.
To everyone else, you owe it to yourself to play this game. Forget about the multiplayer; it offers probably the best single player campaign of 2006. 30 GOTY awards wasn't a fluke.
epic has offcialy said there will be cross-platform matches with 360 as it will require extra time and effort and development" so maybe in fiture in a patch or somethingkirk4everEpic offically said they were thinking about cross platform but they will not implement it as said by Cliffy B.

True... but damn I still call BS, they over exagerated everything that I listedhell I was expecting "real" framerateincrease's.
And now Windows Live... never going to pay to play online on PC.

I do believe that DX10 does give you some kind of slight performence boost....unless they took code out of DX9 and called it DX10, I cant see how it wouldnt...
problem is this though.....DX10 is vista exclusive....so whatever performence boost you do get, is gonna be negated by the loss of performence in Vista.

DX10 is still very new. Crysis is the first real DX10 game and I think it performs well and up to par with XP DX9. Look at the Gamespot benchmarkks for the demo. When the final game arrives we will know more.

Have you also noticed that the game on hacked DX9 looks and plays like the DX10 version... meaning that well actualy it is BS.
They just want people to buy their new OS.
And ONPAR with DX9 isnt a good thing if the arguement is about better performance.
Yes Crysis is the first DX10 game out but its developers are world famous and the budget is huge... if they cant do it what chance do we have of seeing other games getting performance increases with vista/DX10.
