I just found this information on the WoW forums and figured other people here might be interested in hearing about it. Peon4hire is the main reason I rarely play WoW anymore and apparently many other players had the same complaint. Check out the link below for the WoW forum topic in which Blizzard addresses this.

Another reason would be all the content requiring insane amounts of stupid grinding to get anywhere? Which is in direct contrast to what every other Blizzard game ever created has done. Those games were instantly accesible to the casual gamer. Whoever the flip is directing the crap going on over there deserves to be fired.

What? You stopped playing because there was a rmt company in WoW? I dont get it..

Was it because they spammed you once a half hour or was it because a few players on the server got a little gold? O,o

I got sick of the spamming but I haven't stopped playing all together I just don't play that often. Heck I just renewed my account for another six months. Now that Blizzard has done something about the in game spam I'll be more willing to put more time into the game again. Oh yeah, and it was like once every 10 minutes, not once every half hour.

It's good to see Blizzard taking some action against things like this in their game. These gold farmers should be able to realize that people will always be out on Google or Yahoo or whatever search engine they like, looking up some one that sells gold/items/character builds.

There should not be any reason what so ever that people need to be spamming in the game like that.

Finally, those guys were just blatantly obvious in their advertisements.  It's practically like a crack dealer running around shouting out how great their crack is (innuendo NOT intended) and sending letters to everyone with a return address on the back.

Can somebody please explain what's this about for the non WoW players here? Must be pretty serious if Blizzard decides to sue them. Then again, they probably can't touch anyone who doesn't live in the US.

WHen youre playing the game, people would privately message you ("whisper" you) with advertsisements such as "peons4hire has a gold extavaganza, largest retailer in the world of warcraft is selling gold for blah blah blah!"

Its really annoying, and if people actually bought their stuff it also ruins the gameplay.  Remember how Diablo 2 got ruined by the white rings, duped items, and prebought characters?  It was never about beating the game but getting to the cow level the quickest.  I sort of fear that is what will happen with WoW; it wont be about the journey and finding people to group with, it will be about buying preleveled characters for 200 dollars and then grinding the end game content.

I don't care much about it personally, the people who buy fake stuff with real money really need to get their life straightened out. But hey, it's still a good sign from Blizz.

It's good that Blizz is finally doing something about it. Unfortunately it won't stop it and once the damage is done by the RMTers it is done. I think that was proven with FFXI.
