Perfect World International beats World of Warcraft?

I just saw an advertisement banner showing that Perfect World International has over 50 million users world wide. WoW only has around 12 million. So I think this is just bizarre because I thought WoW is the most amazing game ever made for MMORPGs. I guess I was wrong.
