I'm still scratching my head wondering why my PC has a poor performance with Batman AC. I have DX11 turned off, the game is set to high, AA set to FXAA (High), PhysX on normal. But still I'm getting 30-40 FPS, with frequent slow downs. The game also crashed a few times.

There is a new nVidia Beta driver available (v290.36), and it says "Updates PhysX System Software to version 9.11.11.07 for the best PhysX experience in Batman: Arkham City". But it hasn't fixed the DX11 issue for me.

Fix needs to happen asap, its been long enough. I have already beaten the game and refuse to start a hard playtru till dx11 is patched, must be a serious issue if they cant figure it out by now.

I think the game still struggles on DX9, just not as much as DX11. It needs to be fixed on both sides.

Has anyone else tried it without running games for windows? I am just curious as it was playing fine on DX11 before I logged into game for windows and I really dont know why. I dont think I will continue playing until its fixed as the graphics looked so good when I had it in DX11.

Im downloading the beta driver now to see if it helps.

Not for me. It ran fine at first then started acting up. It is still broken. I didnt see that much of a difference between the two, I need to play more with it on, but the difference dosent seem to be as huge as you make it.

Well I am not playing it till DX11 is patched, if I wanted to play it in DX9 I would have bought the Xbox version weeks ago, I can wait a little longer till they fix it. I am not a graphics snob, its just that I want to play the best version of Batman AC available, if that means waiting a week or two for a patch then so be it.

Mine still stutters with DX11 on... In any case, I can't tell much difference between DX9 & DX11 anyway.

It might be me and a placebo effect haha. Im sure everything looked much sweeter with DX11 and I could really notice bricks in the ground etc popping out at me instead of looking flat.

I did run into a bit of stuttering but appart from that the game has run really smoothly.

Did the benchmark with my GTX 460 to compare with and without PhysX

Without PhysX:
Average FPS: 94

With PhysX on Normal:
Average FPS: 45

That's just ridiculous and inexcusable. Practically a loss of 50 frames per second.

Considering the quality of the game and how good it really runs (better than AA after the patches it had), not sure missing such a fantastic game would be a good thing, unless you already have more than you can play, like me, can't wait to play more Batman, but I can't till I finish AC 2 which I never liked before, I need to hurry and be done with it till Friday (Revelations).

Im seriously not having any problems now with DX11. Ive been playing for the last hour or so. I have to say some of the effects are great, like smoke clearing as you walk through it, the hundreds of shards from Mr Freeze's ice gun and the general look of the game, especially when in confined spaces just looks amazing. Almost 50% through the campaign now though so need to slow it down a bit.

^^^What settings are you running with DX11 Jshoelace? Have you got everything maxed out? Because after I installed the new beta drivers, I tried using DX11, had everything on full, and it still stuttered (there was an improvement but still better with DX9).

I got about a 10-14 fps increase with the new nvidia patch acording to fraps.

I play with DX11/Physix on and ambient Colusion or what ever its called off.

Only time there is any lag now is when I load the game for the first few seconds. Other then that played for an hour straight after updating the new drivers and definatly ran better then before!

Interested to see what the patch for the game that the devs are working on does. Game is pretty gorgeous I gotta say!

Yes I have everything maxxed out. The only time it has stuttered is when I have gone through a door. I admit I get a better frame rate with DX9 but DX11 is still very playable. Not much in it at all.

dx11 has a playable framerate for me aswell, it is the major freezes during cutscenes that annoyed me. and that was causing crashes too.

Cosign, running pretty well for me now, the only time is slows down is when I first start off after a cutscene/loading screen. For a few sceonds and thats it, after that its smooth smooth smooth.

there is a beta patch floating around now, it is 123MB.

but they recommend waiting for thr final versions release. just search 'arkham city pc pre patch' on google. :)

I haven't tried it, im having fun on DX9 the way it is at the moment.

hopefully this means the patch is pretty close though.

apparently you can not save your progress if you use the beta patch either because it is not an official GFWL release to everyone yet.

Awesome, hope its soon this game is just gorgeous! The nvidia beta drivers helped me a bit in DX11, now it only lags when I first load/start my game for 5-10 seconds, then its smooth as heck.

Hope the new patch makes it even better 3;)

I decided to install the DX11 beta patch and run the benchmark.

Settings:

1680x1050

4x AA

16x HQ AF (Forced through CCC)

DX11 & Tesselation High

PhysX High

All Settings Maxed Out

Here is the result...

Pretty much the same as before BUT you cannot even notice the stutter to the single digit in the benchmark anymore, there are no major freezes.

It looks very smooth.
