Phew..New Blizzard MMO News

Well, I've never really liked Paul Sams that much, but he did just give me a sigh of relief..

What will make more people happy is the fact that Blizzard's chief operating officer, Paul Sams, and WoW associate producer Lee Sparks have hinted to Incgamers that a new MMO from Activision Blizzard could be round the corner.

What will make MMOers even happier is the fact that console gamers still won't get a look in. Says Sams, on the assumption that a new Blizzard MMO will come to console, "I don't think that should be the assumption because I think there is a lot more that can be done on a PC."

We can hear regular MMOers heaving level 3 sighs of relief that the kidz won't be visiting. "

If its more "Watch my guy beat up pigs" stuff then its just another MMO I'm sitting out of.

I really wish someone would make an action MMO. With all of this "Its very different" and "Shiny next gen!" talk they go on about, I'm hoping this one will be interactive, and I am actually excieted for it...

I'd like to see an MMO get back to the whole "Massive interactive world" idea these games were originally supposed to be about. Like UO, and other games of its type.

I want to interact with the world, have different things to do. I don't want to just go out and level up and get phat loot. I'll just be playing Diablo 3 for that quite honestly. If I hadn't played Diablo 2 to death, I'd probably still be playing that.

Let's put the Massive back into Massive Multiplayer.

Well there HAVE been mmos that took risks... to varying degrees of success.  The first I'm thinking of is EVE... and although it was even LESS interactive than WoW.. the world itself is so customizable and player driven, it is undoubtably a big step into the futute of the genre.  The other one was planetside, which was basically a fps mmorpg. It was far from perfect as well, but it was still fun for a while.

In fact I haven't played an mmo for over a year.  Started with DAoC when it came out and played it for a couple years... CoH and planet side for a few months.  then Eve for about a year and WoW for about a year when it first came out.  No new mmo has really sparked my interest, I want something that mixes it up and doesn't follow the beaten path.
