Im looking to buy a gaming laptop for around 2000-2400$ and was wondering what my best options are. I was looking at dell XPS laptops as an option but I was going to see if anyone knew of any better suggestions.

You can find the same thing as the XPS for the same price at many other stores (alienware, ibuypower...) if brand matters but the XPS with the dual GTXs loks good.

If you're looking at a laptop for going to LAN parties, don't bother. A lanbox would serve you a lot better and cost only half as much. If you're looking at this for using anywhere where there isn't an outlet, don't get a quad-core SLi laptop, as you won't be going very long on battery alone.

Yea, i jus got a laptop for the mobility factor, so i can easily pick it up and take it somewhere else, but the battery life sucks, it only last abt an hour an a half on my alienware.

NO, DO NOT buy an alienware, or dell. Get this awesome Gateway http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8780198&st=gateway&lp=3&type=product&cp=1&id=1204332501169

Then after that, upgrade the processor to this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819111001

Gaming laptops really arent that great.

For 2000-2400$ you could get a desktop with twice the power of your laptop

You don't even know if that laptop supports 45nm.

The battery life doesn't have to be exceptionally good because I will have it charging almost any time I will be gaming. I am also buying this for school use and our laptop requirments require 2 batteries so I will have a spare when needed.

I already have a gaming desktop which I will be selling becuase I am going off to college and feel that even though a laptop is less power for the price than a desktop, a laptop will be easier for college life.

Thanks for the help so far though.
