Damn I just realized this is a free to play game...lame. So basically the game is pay to win I'm guessing?

not really
its like Tribes:Ascend in that you can pay for XP boosts and unlocks, also some skins I believe, but nothing that makes you directly more powerful. Its like paying to unlock stuff in BF3.
Anything you can pay for you can get by playing and earning resources/certs as well.
As someone who put 20+ hours into the beta, can't wait for launch. The game is tons of fun and I really want to get my hands on the rest of the content, as well as get some friends involved. It's not pay-to-win, unlocks can be earned or bought. The only things that require real money are cosmetic. Highly recommended.
its better than halo, I bought Alpha Squad the day Halo 4 came out instead of showing love to my xbox.. heck I havent bought an 360 game in years

Tribes was alright at release. At this point though I'd say the game is pretty heavily favored for the P2P people.heres some screens i took, i threw money at this game because it was mindblowingly awesome. (right click >view images)
[QUOTE="IxX3xil3d0n3XxI"]I am excited. Its the closest PC gamers will get to halo. nutcrackrwe did get halo. and halo 2
I am aweare, I have them both. I guess I'll rephrase:
As close as PC gamers will ever get to another new Halo game.

I will definitely check out Planetside 2. Seems promising.

Hopefully Planetside 2 doesn't go the same route if it doesn't make as much money for the developers as they hoped.
Lol Planet Side 2: Bane Edition -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go9zh0DJS_Y&feature=g-all-lik
I love how everyone just follows him becuse he sounds like Bane and he soon takes charge of the situation!
Deckard Cain For the win :P
you need to turn the volume up a bit the sound is pretty low
we did get halo. and halo 2[QUOTE="nutcrackr"][QUOTE="IxX3xil3d0n3XxI"]I am excited. Its the closest PC gamers will get to halo. IxX3xil3d0n3XxI

Well there is Tribes: Ascend and Bungie said that Halo 1: Combat Evolved was inspired by Tribes 1: Starsiege(1998): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z7Fd5iwu1g&hd=1&t=5s Unfortunately 2 patches ago my ping jumped from 12-19 to 40+ now and for those that use automatic weapons anything past 30 ping is awful, although most people on GS would probably prefer the spinfusors, bolt launchers, short fuse, etc. which work fine even at high pings. As for Planetside 2, the game seems a bit broken to me as it is balance wise and the fact every patch has been changing things up drastically isn't too reassuring, the optimization is a huge issue and the fact it has barely been addressed in patches is worrying, I suppose we'll see soon enough whether or not PS2 has been rushed to release what seems to be a few months too early.[QUOTE="IxX3xil3d0n3XxI"]BF3 is pretty much Halo in older times to be fair. lol. C_RuleDo you think everything is like Halo? Neither PS2 or BF3 have much in common with Halo.
No, I do not think everything is like Halo. From a general perspective, they share a few things in common. Many vehicles being the most predominant. As far as PS2 and Halo, they have vehicles and the futuristic setting both make it look about the same. Dont read too much into this.
Are there any differences between the three factions available?K4ss3r
not letting me download on steam.. saying no subscription
Flubbbs
Restart steam, go in offline mode then go in online mode should fix it, had the same thing happen.
I played the early beta maybe up until the first week ended and I just stopped. I was a bit dissapointed with the lack of an MMO feeling due to how they had multiple decisions on the gameplay design resulting in a faster, less organised and meaningful zergfest.
I was aware the game was "free to play" but I didn't think this meant entirely free, so I'm going to try it out.
Can't believe how badly it runs :(
Unless they've improved performance since the beta where i was getting 30fps or less on medium.
Yeah, the game ran like crap on my system as well even with a 7950. I couldn't fly anything or fight in any big battles without going into the 20's for FPS. I could lower the graphics settings but I shouldn't have to.Can't believe how badly it runs :(

Servers might just be overloaded? also, I dont know about AMD, but Nvidia released beta drivers for Planetside 2 today
This games website / login ritual is the most annoying one I've encountered in a long time. After creating a new account, which took about 30 mins because of 502 errors on their website, I finally got to try and start the game.
It now tells me that I have to change my password, in trying to do this it tells me that cookies must be enabled, including possibly 3rd party cookies. So I disabled all cookie blocking, thinking I'll switch it back on after this strange change your password request on the account I've just created and it still says switch on f'king cookies.
GrrrArrrrgh!
Maybe one day I'll get to try but I doubt that it's going to be tonight.
