I want to play Abe, New and Tasty on my PC and I see that "Steam" allows this. My question is

1. Is the Steam version of New and Tasty as good on a PC as on the PS4.

2. I need a game controller; how does this work with a PC?

I am using windows 7 with a Xeon chip.

@castro58: It's the same. Plug in your controller to the PC. All console controllers will work. Xbox One controller is the most standard if you need to buy one.

Why a DS4 though? XB1 controller has far more support and its standard for nearly every single game on Steam.

@saintsatan: DS4 support is great too since steam added direct support for it, but generally outside of steam xbox controllers still work better

Cos the XB1 controller is shit, and yes I have 1, only for Forza Horizon 3, my hand cramps after 30-45 mins of use and I have to take a break.

Opposite for me. I find XB1 controller to be more comfortable, especially for games that use the triggers often. I think the Nintendo Switch Pro controller is better than both but I'd still recommend XB1 because of the support it gets on PC. I know a few games had a ton of trouble with DS4. I think one of the Dark Souls games was one of them. Binding of Isaac had trouble too IRRC.

Thanks for the discussion.

To play abe, the PS4 has all the buttons set as the game requires. Do all the controllers have the same buttons as the PS4 controller. For example; to chant I have L2 and R2; to creep L1 - do all the controllers have equavelent buttons or do I have to have a controller for the machine that the game was written for?

What do you mean by "most standard"? Is it because it's a Microsoft brand?

@omegamaster: To play Abe, I need four buttons on the front of the controller (to chant and creep) The XBOX contoller does not appear to have four buttons but two so there are not enough buttons. Also, say I want to play Halo, would the DS4 controller work for Halo.

"Is it because it's a Microsoft brand?" Basically, that is the question; do I need a controller that the game was written for.

New edit: I search the Internet for contoller problems with Abe and I found the following snip:

@castro58: The DS4 and XBOne controller are the same in terms of buttons, DS4 has 2 extra thanks to the touchpad, but they aren't used really.

Its all about how it feels in your hand and if you don't end up confusing the buttons, they are labelled different.

It's the controller that is most supported on PC, by far.

@saintsatan: the logitech controllers work on everything too(you can simply have it emulate x360/xone controller) and have x-input + d-input on switch and you can make em emulate just about everything, I've had the f710 for a long time and that thing is insanely good for the price, the analog layout is sadly the same from dualshock but its much sturdier and the dpad is really great, I'd rank it as my 3rd best controller after xbox elite and switch elite atm
