Well, I reformatted my PC a week ago, and was looking to get back into Skyrim, only to discover that my Skyrim directory is a complete mess (I rely on the Nexus Mod Manager to keep track of and update the 50+ mods I play with). Now, without the Nexus Mod Manager, the directory is just a mess of files. In preparation for Dawnguard next month, I'm going to simply redownload Skyrim and replay the game without mods, so that I won't have mods corrupting my save files.
Then again, I did play most of Skyrim without mods (like 85 hours) and found it completely fine. It was only towards the last five hours that I played it that I downloaded many, many mods (that was around the time the Creation Kit came out). I haven't touched Skyrim since.
Your thoughts? Is it worth my effort to rebuild my mod directory? I didn't install very many gameplay mods - most of my mods were texture mods/model replacements, plus a few player-made homes, and some custom clothing.
