Hello,
I have been away from the gaming world for awhile now..but I have had the urge to get back into it and now with BF3 coming out, i really want to get back into PC gaming, but i have no clue on what all the latest stuff is that is out and what i should get..i have done some research but still have no clue what to do..so if you guys could help me put together a good machine i would really really apperciate it..My budget is about 1,500..I can go over alittle bit but would prefer to keep it in that price range and I already have a monitor.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.:D

Hi , for that money you can build a monster rig , here goes :

Asus P8p67 Pro Mobo

Intel i5 2500K cpu

Coolermaster hyper 212+ cpu cooler

G.skill ripjaws 8gb ram

Nvidia Gtx 580

Western digital black 1tb HDD

Coolermaster haf X case

coolermaster silent pro 750w power supply

DVD burner .

I bet you'd still have more money to throw in a SSD , with this rig you will max out pretty much all games out there .

GTX 580 is a waste you might as well just pick up a OC'ed GTX 570 and nearly match a GTX 580 and save $200

Yeah 1500 is a huge budget for a gmaing rig.

I second the suggesiton for an SSD. Price out the parts and see if you can fit a 64 Gb or 120 GB one.

I have a 120 GB one that runs the OS and all my programs and a 2 TB drive that holds my data and games.

It's probably one of the upgrades that amde my PC feel msot modern. It literally takes Photoshop like 1 second to load.

get a core i7 2600k for $300 and a 6950 2gb toxic edition video card for $270, it comes with 2 free games (deus ex 3 and dirt 3) and its as powerful as a 570 gtx. After that a 1tb HDD, a decent case like a HAF 922, and 8 gigs of ram.

IMO stick with the i5 2500K and if your budget still fits, get as much RAM as you can. Heck I I had that much of a budget i'd get 16GB :-)

I would stick with a 2500k and 8gb of ram, put any extra money after the SSD into the best GPU you can afford.

For that budget have you considered going crossfireX or SLI ? Might want to look into that.

tooo much RAM is not need..4gb is still enough for games and 8gb is the most you need.get the gtx580 itself if you can fit a monitor also into that budget.

thanks for all the help and suggestions..
im gonna go with the intel i5 2500k since that seems to be what most people are recommending and doing searches on google.

For the Asus P8p67 Pro motherboard there are a few different ones to choose from, ranging from lower to higher prices..does it matter which one I get or what should i be looking for when choosing one of them, and same with the Nivida GTX 580 there are different ones to choose from, I'm confused on what i should be getting..

Thanks again.

I would go with something like this: i5-2500K 8GB Corsair XMS DDR3 EVGA GTX 560Ti MSI P67-GD65 The MSI board had a great review on HardOCP, and they're not easily impressed.
