Medieval 2 Total War is a must-buy, as is Company of Heroes. They're much better than the choices you listed.

I wouldn't buy WiC, by the way.

I've enjoyed Company of Heroes, World in Conflict and Sins of a Solar Empire in the last year. If I could get only one I'd go for COH. I suggest you read some reviews and decide what kind of RTS experience you are looking for.

StarCraft: Brood War . The best RTS of the whole time.

You can check out WarCraft III , but it lacks that speed, and awarness needed in StarCraft.

Awcourse you can wait for StarCraft II. It will be released soon.

Blizzard RTS's are the best, well becouse blizzard never made a bad game.

As of games from other dev's..

Warhammer 40,000 is a nice RTS

  • Homeworld + Cataclysm
  • Company of Heroes + Opposing Fronts
  • Medieval II: Total War + Kingdoms
  • Rome: Total War + Alexander
  • Warcraft III: The Reign of Chaos + The Frozen Throne
  • Warhammer 40, 000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade
  • Starcraft + Broodwar
  • Rise of Nations + Thrones and Patriots
  • Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings + The Conquerers
  • Age of Mythology + The Titans
  • Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Revenge
  • Sins of a Solar Empire

That's the list of RTSs (and any expansions) that I've played (with the exception of M2TW) that I would personally recommend. Cross out the ones you already have, look into the rest and buy the ones you're most interested in.

I would say go with Sins. It's extremely open-ended and there is such a vast number of mods that drastically alter the game to any style you wish. Well worth the money.

I have already COH and I love it. I heard that Sins doesn't have a campaign, is this true and is Supremem Commander any good cause I can get that and the expansion for $25? What is wrong with World in Conflict?

If you have CoH then your best bet is Medieval II. Great game with a good campaign.

Dawn of war is brilliant once you get into it. I don't know if civilisation counts as an RTS (well it gets the S anyway) but it's definitely another recommendation, age of the empires is good too. I'm just playing supreme commander now and wow is it epic, I don't think i've ever picked up a game before and thought s@@@ this is going to take some time to get used to. After only half an hour of play I know this game is going to be brilliant. Course it depends if you're after one player or 2 player, I wouldn't recommend dawn of war or age of the empires as single players, but with a few people/online they're great. Also I hear DOW and COHs were made using the same engine? i.e. they might have a similar feel, i've not played COH personally. As a graphical throwback Medieval 1 is just as good as 2, they play completely different in the campaign mode.
