because I can't stand to play this game another minute on a keyboard. The handling is just completely whack.

No matter what I do the back end of the cars do nothing but fishtail. Yes I know its a rally game, but it feels like your racing a boat up river with this game. Is the xbox360 controller compatible with the games. And does it work any better for handling?

I haven't played dirt, but I play the need for speed games on the PC and I do it with a gamepad. I couldn't imagine it without. I didn't get carbon, but im thinking about prostreet. Is Dirt a fun game? well besides the k/m controls

Get a racing wheel. Far better than any gamepad.

Lol I know what you mean. Racing games are far better on a console, and just do not belong on a PC, period.

I am playing DirT with xbox360 wire controller for windows and I like it very much :) It's absolutely compatible (DiRT recognizes the controller as "Xbox360 Controller") and its fun to play. I cant say if its better with controller or a keyboard because I am not a big fan of racing games, but I will deffinetely continue to play with the controller...

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this(actually I'm not) but you're being ignorant saying they dont belong on pc. Ignorant to the fact that you can use a gamepad or steering wheel if you so choose.

Guess you've never played a PC racing sim...

And you can use whatever gamepad you want on PC. Heck the 360 controller self-installs itself, drivers and all.

DiRT doesn't suck. it's actually pretty good rally game.

gamepad is a lot better than keyboard for any driving game. racing wheel even better, but i'll stick with gamepad cos i don't play driving games that much.

Excuse me? Racing games are MUCH better (and easier) with a keyboard than they are with a controller. I have tried racing games on consoles, but it always ended up with me getting pissed at the controller Playing a racing game with a controller does have ONE positive side though: It makes the game much harder, so if you're tired of the easy enemies just use a controller

I always used to play racing games on keyboard, but after playing Dirt with a 360 pad I don't want to go back.Dirt is good fun, and once you learn how to handle the different types of cars it becomes much easier to avoid fishtailing.

Yeah, DiRT works very well with the 360 controller. That's probably your best bet.

How many of you recommending a steering wheel (normally I'd recommend one as well) have actually played this game in particular with one? Unless there has been a patch recently, wheel support in this game is poo-poo. My Logitech MOMO isn't automatically recognized as such by the game, and if I try to use it anyway, it's nearly impossible to control the vehicles!!!

The 360 controller, while not the best experience for racing games in general, is likely the best option for this game.

Anyone that would play a racing game with anything other then a racing controler is just whacked! Don't you want the feel of racing? And the guy that said racing games don't belong on a PC? go back to your lame console and your kiddie controlers. You have NO IDEA what you are talking about and obviously have never played some of the fantastic racing SIMULATORS that have ben on the PC for years. If you can't run with the big dogs.........then stay on the porch.

Racing games are better with a keyboard? Try playing GTR with a KB.
