Let me say this about Diablo 3. You will get about 20 hours or so out of the campaign but everything you do in that time will be very monotone. The combat model is relatively efficient and you can mix up how you fight but its just not a very satisfying game. I mean, you reach the end boss and it just feels exactly the same as everything that's come before it! The co-operative stuff is very easy to use, big plus, but it still doesn't feel very exhilarating. Also, there can be some latency problems that will force you to die unexpectedly. I can't comment on Guild Wars 2 as I haven't played it but I'm sure its better than that Woodcutter simulator on Steam.

Really depends on what you like, im over 400hours into D3 and I don't plan to stop. MMO's just dont interest me anymore. Best way is to test both games before you buy.

GW2, The scale of the game blows my mind. D3 is very poor, but very addictive, im glad I bought it but I wont be touching it for a long time.

[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"][QUOTE="DanielDust"] It runs worse than BF 3, that is in no way, shape or form acceptable by any stretch of the imagination. It's the only thing that kept me from joining day one, waiting for areas to clear a bit, hopefully next week. It's a decent looking game, not more not less.DanielDust

kevin was right. too many PC gamers worry more about the game's performance than how much fun it is.

I'd say I have good reasons to worry when I can't even get 30 frames in zones with a lot of action on a GTX670 at just 1680x1050.

Yes, when games run bad, so bad it takes the fun away, people worry about it and hope it'll get better, they don't go "it's okay man, because it's fun".

Not sure why you're suddently trying to hide all this, now that it launched, everyone knows the worst problem of GW 2 is optimization, the rest of the problems being irrelevant, since overall it's a great game, or what, you're going against "game runs bad" because it somehow sounds like the game is bad or what?

I run 50-60 frames per second at all times at max settings at 1900x1200 for GW2. I have had no problems at all. It runs just fine.

It's GW2 without a doubt.

I played Diablo 2 for a bit over 100 hours, (3 characters to 60) and I just bought GW2 but can safely say Diablo isn't the right game.

Maybe once they have more content released it will be better but at this point it's essentially a 10 hour (or less) game.

GW2. And this is coming from someone who owns D3 and doesn't care for GW at all. :P

Diablo 3 lasted me about a week before it got too boring to bother with.

Go Diablo 3. It'll give you a much deeper experience with a game that relies on atmosphere and story rather than an online environment. Although there is the online auction house but you can ignore that and it won't affect your experience.

[QUOTE="AjaxNeron"]

For a single-player experience, Diablo III. If you've got online, which I'm assuming you do, then Guild Wars 2.

jakes456

because Diablo 3 can be played offline... /facepalm

with an always online connection to their server? It can be played solo*, it's always online much to the games detriment.

GW2 for sure. You will get way more hours for the money and it is just massive. Don't get me wrong, I love Diablo 3 but after ther short campaign, it gets boring just trying to beat it on a harder difficulty. Go GW2, it's super funsmile.gif

Unless you enjoy grinding gear, D3's content only lasts around 5hrs on normal difficulty. I would invest in GW2 definitely.

A month for me. Although, after the first week you should be in Hell Act 1 and at that point you'll realize the game just sucks.

Go with GW2, I play D2 more than D3 these days. D3 is a solid game but I lost all interest after beating nightmare. Might try it out again after the last update.

I haven't played GW2 but I got bored with Diablo 3 before I finished the starter edition so I'd pass on Diablo at least if it was me.

I like D3 more then GW2, paragon leveling is cool but not fun AT TIMES, but there is also the highly anticipated PvP coming soon so who knows what features blizzard will integrate into the system to make it addicting. In WoW what made me go back to it was PvP, it's always new and fresh and different and im hoping it's that way for D3

I'm holding out for Marvel Heroes to scratch my 2d/3d itch (ie get a break from FPS/RPG dungeon crawlers.) Diablo 3 is expensive compared to what else is out there and it gets some rough feedback from customers. I've never played a Magica, DoTA, Diablo, or, for that matter, Gauntlet type of game and I don't want to get a bad taste for an entire genre based on one superhyped, perhaps overpriced game.

I'm also looking forward to Injustice: Gods Among Us. As usual though, DC Comics, who I didn't read as much as Marvel whoops Marvel's butt when it comes to at least naming stuff. Really, Marvel? "Marvel Heroes?" Is the best name you could come up with? Hope that's a working title or at least it gets a cool subtitle to dress it up.

Marvel Heroes and Injustice will imo be great to not only scratch that superhero itch, but Marvel Heroes will be introducing me to Diablo-style games and Injustice will be bringing back memories of playing Tekken, Soul Caliber and Virtua Fighter. Never got into Mortal Kombat that much. Either because I thought I was outgrowing video games by then or the graphics just looked too busy. Give me a seizure up in 'dis b*tch.

Guess I can't answer your poll accurately as I will be spending my "birthday money" on what SOME are considering the REAL spiritual successor to Diablo II which could very well be Marvel Heroes game.

Is this a joke? You are purchasing these games for the same exact reason most people are: Because its a tie to in a franchise they like. these games, more than likely, will be terrible simply because it will sell for the reasons i just stated.

Sorry, Marvel Heroes is not a "spiritual successor" to diablo 2. I dont care what they claim or who they've hired. Many of the same people who've made D2 have gone on to make terrible games (remember Hellgate London anyone?).

No. A joke would go like: Did you know crocodiles are twice as likely to attack you as alligators? Do you want to know how to tell them apart? You pretty much just want to assume it's a crocodile.

Yeah, that's the reason Diablo 3 sold so well and it turned out to be garbage. To be honest, I think that Marvel Heroes game will be the same thing.
