If it stays the way it is, no, it won't replace Steam.

But Origin has faster download speeds and lets downloads continue on their own while you play a game rather than pausing and needing a workaround like in Steam.

It's not the best, but there's no reason for it to "burn."

I have probably a dozen games on origin.

I also bought them all during amazon sales.

So it depends on how you measure success.

I actually like Origin. It's a good service. The only problem is that it has NO GAMES. They really need to bolster their selection if they ever want it to become more than DRM for their PC titles.

No. What EA is doing is trying to compete directly with everything Steam is doing, what they should be doing is trying to provide a good alternative.
