i downloaded the demo (yes, my pc meets the requierments to play it[i also haven't tried playing it with my internet hooked up]) it loads the thing that says 'Valve' and then it loads 'powered by source' then it gets to the menu but has no options to click and it quits out saying 'could not load library client' anything wrong or should i just hook up my internet?

Right Click the game on your list -> Options-> Local Files -> Confirm game cache intergrity.

Eventually removing it and installing again might work, your internet should have nothing to do with it.

You'll need an active connection to the internet. It just is missing a file or two. Steam will detect, download, and install the missing files. You should be good to go then.
