^^ as titled. i would like to know more about how the game plays and feels like right now. i've previously played the trial version of the core game for a while, and didn't really get into it....but i've always heard good things about it. so i guess if there's anything i, or any other previous nay sayers should know about the present state of the game, this would be a great time to tell us. :)

personally, i would like to know the community size and quality, the pve gameplay ( which i've heard it's superb ), and the pvp content. also, i couldn't quite warm up to the classes in the trial -- are they getting deeper and more exciting to play with?

oh yea, i'm a fan of the books and the movies. :)

The game was already pretty good but the Mines of Moria expansion just added two new classes as well as post level 50 gameplay. I can't tell you the size of the community but I can always find people to play with in the game. I've found that the lore in the books is very much in the game and you can really see it as you play through the epic quest lines. As far as storytelling goes the game wins over any other MMORPG I've come across in my many years of gaming. The PVE content is very good and monster play can be a lot of fun as well.

my question is, how does is content with WoW? Being a wow veteran i find it extremely hard to transition to other MMORPG's as i find that WoW's style suits me perfectly. Things like the large customisability and vast, open but detailed environments is what gets me going lol.

The interface in LoTRO is similar to WoW's but with more customizability. The environment is easily on par with WoW is not a bit better because of the better graphics and sound. The crafting is a bit better implimented in LoTRO than the crafting in WoW is. In LoTRO you can choose from crafting profession sets that includes three professions. Many of the professions are available in different sets with the exception of scholarship. You also have farming, forestry (gathering and treating wood and treating animal hides), prospecting (mining in WoW), and there are various food stuff and plants you can gather out in the environments. The overall experiance in LoTRO is very similar to WoW in many aspects but also has it's own charms that more than make it worth playing.

keep wondering cause wow's census has now reached 11.2 million players. Id like to try other games, but seeing as i come from WoW, players like you wikll always treat me with hostility

It's the standard that all MMO's will be compared to until it is outdone.

it's actually a tad bothering when i started a thread and half of the replies talked about things i already knew or don't need to know....

anyway, looking forward to hear more from Lotro players. i notice how the classes are quite lore specific -- does that limit the gameplay?

i recently got myself a buddy key and am about to start playing, so i dig this up to ask for more gameplay advices :) which class should i pick as a starter? i'm looking for a well rounded and sophisticated class that shines in both solo and group scenario. are champion and rune keeper what i'm looking for?
