I bought the game but never really got into it because my 9800GX2 died so I had to play the game with a crappy 7900GS from 2006... That is going to change pretty soon once my GTX 480 arrives :)
Kind of like Battlefield: Lite but its fun for a while. It tries a little too hard to appeal to the CoD crowd and not enough to the Battlefield fans.
I never overdid it (i picked it up just after release) so I never got burnt out and it still feels fairly new to me. Still enjoying it quite a bit casually.

Likewise! I got about 60 hours in multiplayer and beat the single player too. So I got my money's worth and I can play it from time to time w/o making it stale.
I just don't know what to think of it ATM. I really do hate that they nerfed the CG & m60. I was whoring them a lot, but so was everyone else. Come to think of it, the CG is still a little OP, but the m60.. well.. R.I.P. m60..
Ever since they released the new patch that actually allowed me to find servers close by I've been trying to get into it every now and again.
I don't care for the feel of the game at all (very slow and sluggish) plus I hate that everyone else has magnum ammo and I don't...

Magnum ammo, just to be completely honest, doesn't make for an incredible difference like you'd think it would. Before I'd unlocked it, I was thinking the same thing, too. "I don't have Mag. Ammo yet, but these guys do! This just isn't fair." Then, when I got it, I noticed the gameplay had changed very little. You may kill them slightly quicker, but in a game in which you die from just a few shots anyways, even from long range, it really doesn't matter. Any weapon, magnum ammo or not, can kill very quickly, and if you aren't the one shooting first and you're getting hit by surprise, you'll drop dead regardless what unlocks you have.

By few do you mean a few hundred?
I just find it very off putting when i get the first couple of hit markers on a guy but he kills me regardless because he's a higher level. It's already daunting enough progressing in FPS games when the community has a rather large head start.
Anyways I've started playing hardcore mode now, it's better than standard in terms of damage you can take but still not perfect.
Incredible game. I joined a clan just to experience it proper. Playin on a beastly rig, I've got 285 hrs played and countin'! Only SC2 has managed to draw me away at all.

i dont think the CG is a 'little op' hahahaha. mega understatement, in my opinion! im still CG sniping people across the map without much effort. the radius is still huge! its crazy![QUOTE="giant11"][QUOTE="mkaliaz"]

If you nerf it too much, it suddenly becomes a slingshot, not a rocket launcher.
The game rocks and has set the bar for destruction of building/environments etc. Hours and hours of enjoyment online.

No, Red Faction Guerilla has that crown.
Physics based destruction > Scripted.
a solid game, but once you unlock everything, get comfortable with your ideal kit/s, I just do not see the point of playing.
unlockables ruin games imo. Whatever happened to gaming for gaming's sake?

I agree. It was ncie for a while, but I wish we could go back to where you could use any weapon, even when you start. It just feels way less restrictive that way.
Been playing for about month, to a month and a half now, and here are my thoughts:
1: The learning curve on this game is pretty crazy. It takes MANY, MANY, MANY deaths to actually start to kill more than you die. At least it did for me .
2: The gameplay is frustrating at times, because it tries to be realistic in many ways, like bullet drop, physics, etc...but then it takes 5, 6, sometimes close to 10 bullets to drop someone. I know this issue is partly to blame on faulty hit box detection, but even without that, it still takes an excessive amount of time to down someone at times.
3: Despite those issues, I still have a great time playing, more often than not. There's tons of crap going on, from buildings falling, to mortar strikes, and takes exploding from C-4. I've yet to get in vent with someone and really do squad play, so this all my experience has been based on just running solo on random servers for the most part. Despite that, when I get on a decent team that sort of understands what the hell they're doing, combat becomes very tactical and skill intensive.
Those are my impressions of the game so far anyway.
