I have a 480W PSU, it's got 2 12V rails. one is rated at 16A, the second at 18A, with max combined output of 264W. Is it good enough for one 4870?

Should be fine, the card can't consume more than 225w. What's the brand ?

That is what I am afraid of, It a Codegen... You can laugh, but that is the only one I could find.

Codegen 480W, I only see 1 +12v rail at 16A and looking at the price of 16$, no it's not enough to run a 4870.

Don't know, I got in front of me and on the sheet, it says 12V 1, 12V 2. I'll get a picture in a minute.

I wouldn't take the risk, it could end up frying your new card and other components.

yeah. It's a bit dissapointing, but it's the truth. I got it with the case though.

So, guess I'll search for another one. There was a CoolerMaster 600W one, but I looked it up on the net, and all the reviews I found were bad.

Get a Corsair 550W or 650W, they're excellent power supplies.
