Power Supply advice

Hey all so im looking to upgrade my powersupply, made a noob mistake when i built this pc anddident get a big brand last time so i really want to replace it. I saw this on the net and i know coolermaster is a good brand i was just wondering since i dont know about it but whats the deal with the single rail or dual rail. the guy in the video mentioned this and i just wanna make sure this is a good buy this time.

I am not a big fan of tigerdirect (pretty poor customer support) - I prefer zipzoomfly, newegg, and ewiz (among a few others) for companies to buy from. For brands that I tend to buy from: Corsair (fantastic) OCZ (great the majority of the time) PC Power and Cooling (great) XFX (great) Antec (good) Coolermaster is a fine brand but I believe better exist.Janus67

Coolermaster, Seasonic, and Thermaltake all make good PSUs but are often overlooked. Corsair is great but lets not exaggerate. Corsair don't even make their own PSU's anyway (most companies don't), they have Seasonic & others do the manufacturing.

Watch out for Corsair, I bought their 750W and if the pin connector gets even slightly jostled the power cuts off. OCZ and Antec are crap brands too. Cooler Master will be in my next build probablyistuffedsunny

Sometimes I wonder where people get their information... OCZ and Antec crap brands? wtf...

OCZ isn't amazing but very far from crap and Antec is great for the most part.

oops completely forgot about Seasonic (have used them for two builds, excellent power supplies). As for the Antec (good) and others (great) I just needed a new adjective to use, it is a solid brand that I have no issue buying.

I haven't heard of any issues lately with Corsair PSUs, most enthusiasts that I talk to have been swearing by them for the past couple years with hardly any issues at all (far less than I read about for other brands).

I still prefer newegg to tigerdirect, but whatever works for you.

Is a guide that I tend to stick to with my recommendations, I'm sure any one you buy from that list will be fine for you.

they seem to provide the same performance but the antec at 20 bucks cheaper

the only thing im worried about is both these PSUs only have 2 PCIe connectors so if i wanna go with dual GPUs at some pointis that at all possible with these? ive calculated the watts and they provide enough power but i dont see how i could connect them

most higher end GPUs come with molex to 6 pin PCI-e power cable. or you can look for them on newegg.

I prefer a single-rail as that way I don't have to worry about load-balancing. The Corsair has a single rail (1+12V rail @ 53Amps should be plenty) and the Antec is multi-rail (2+12V rails @ 38Amps each)Janus67

This is what I am talking about, really awesome power supply for the price.

nice good cooling fan with 80% efficiency, SLI certified, but no modular cable, i more like modular cable, it's easy to manage.gumeh

i use zip ties to keep everything orderly so i like saving money with the non modular PSU
