I am not a big fan of tigerdirect (pretty poor customer support) - I prefer zipzoomfly, newegg, and ewiz (among a few others) for companies to buy from. For brands that I tend to buy from: Corsair (fantastic) OCZ (great the majority of the time) PC Power and Cooling (great) XFX (great) Antec (good) Coolermaster is a fine brand but I believe better exist.

Ive been shopping from tigerdirect long before newegg was really known. Ive never had an issue from them support wise or product wise. TC, that psu you linked is pretty good its like a Corsair 750TX

OCZ = great... XFX = great... Antec = good?

Coolermaster, Seasonic, and Thermaltake all make good PSUs but are often overlooked. Corsair is great but lets not exaggerate. Corsair don't even make their own PSU's anyway (most companies don't), they have Seasonic & others do the manufacturing.

Also, take a quick look at this. It not a definitive study but interesting nonetheless.http://www.hardware.fr/articles/810-3/taux-pannes-composants.html

Watch out for Corsair, I bought their 750W and if the pin connector gets even slightly jostled the power cuts off. OCZ and Antec are crap brands too. Cooler Master will be in my next build probably

Sometimes I wonder where people get their information... OCZ and Antec crap brands? wtf...

OCZ isn't amazing but very far from crap and Antec is great for the most part.

oops completely forgot about Seasonic (have used them for two builds, excellent power supplies). As for the Antec (good) and others (great) I just needed a new adjective to use, it is a solid brand that I have no issue buying.

I haven't heard of any issues lately with Corsair PSUs, most enthusiasts that I talk to have been swearing by them for the past couple years with hardly any issues at all (far less than I read about for other brands).

I still prefer newegg to tigerdirect, but whatever works for you.

Oh and about the single/dual rail thing:

http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5492844&postcount=2

Is a guide that I tend to stick to with my recommendations, I'm sure any one you buy from that list will be fine for you.

I prefer a single-rail as that way I don't have to worry about load-balancing. The Corsair has a single rail (1+12V rail @ 53Amps should be plenty) and the Antec is multi-rail (2+12V rails @ 38Amps each)

the only thing im worried about is both these PSUs only have 2 PCIe connectors so if i wanna go with dual GPUs at some pointis that at all possible with these? ive calculated the watts and they provide enough power but i dont see how i could connect them

most higher end GPUs come with molex to 6 pin PCI-e power cable. or you can look for them on newegg.

He has linked the green version of the antec 650W. The normal one has 3 12V rails with a total amperage of 69 amps, one dedicated to CPU so you can OC as crazy as you like, one dedicated to other compoents like HDD and optical drives and third one with 25A dedicated to PCIE plugs so you can have any single chip graphics card you want.

This is what I am talking about, really awesome power supply for the price.

Really? I never had an issue with TigerDirect. They RMA my stuff just as fast as newegg.com. Granted Newegg.com is not far from my location, that's why it's faster.. but TigerDirect.com has been impeccable nonetheless. It's not impossible that they gave you the shaft though. TC, time and time again, I always said I would go modular. For sure, my next build will be modular and most likely Corsair once again. Trying to cable management a bulk of cables you don't need - usually half of them is a pain when you want a clean setup. As always though, I manage to come up with a very clean look. But go modular. It's less headache. And I always recommend at least 750; Corsair TX750 for example.

I just have trouble buying a 'house brand' item (like Rocketfish branded something from Best Buy).
