I am looking for a very power efficient and powerful PSU.

I've been considering the 1000W Corsair but I have been looking around at other PSU's and was wondering if anyone else had ny recomendations.

Before I get a message saying I don't need a PSU this powerful, I do. With the extensive mods on my case, liquid cooling(DC Pump), etc. I do infact need at least 1000W.

Thx for taking the time to help me out. I have no budget(moneys not an object), and PSU size is not a factor.

Everything I have heard about the Corsair 1000w is great, it is basically 2 500w PSU put together, if I remember correctly.

Even though I don't need it, I want that 1000w Corsair, it is a very nice unit.

Yeah, most systems don't require that much juice, just curious what all you are planning on getting that would need that nice PSU?

yea unless someone recomends a PSU that i just fall in love with I will probaly go with the corsair, and as for what is powerin, the list is below.

Water Cooling for my CPU, which i will eventually expand when the need arises.

The CPU will prob be a Q9550 or whatever the quad is that is right below the extreame. but i may weight for nethalem idk it depends on the speed of my mod/build

Also I am powering a dvd/drive/burner/bluray drive, A cigarette lighter/cupholder/2 5.25 fan controllers controlling 12 quiet led fans.

And I am gonna start with 2 1tb drives in whatever raid constantly backs up on the info on disk 1 onto disk 2, then after that i am gonna add another 6 HDD

and along with Lights etc. you see where i am going lol

I am waiting to see how mature the chipset is for nethalem on release, plus I don't see a reason to have more than 4 cores atm seeing as I am not in to Image/Movie editing, and i walk away from my computer when i copy dvds onto it.

I would recomend 4 cores just cuz I multitalk like no other and I like to listen to my music while I game, and a 2 core proc. will slow down when you run Winamp, Crysis for example(not that I ever plan to own that game, I played it and it is way over hyped IMO)

The Corsair HX 1000w modular PSU seems to be the talk of the town today. And well-deserved, I might add. It's a great PSU. Personally, I think it's the best. Even if another company came along and promised one just like it with LED lights, I would still buy the Corsair HX 1000w PSU over it. It's my biggest regret not buying one, and I settled for the smaller cousin, Corsair TX750w. Messy messy cables. It's my fault, I know. With a 1000w, you're not limited to anything, really. You can run multiple GPU setups and still have 100-200w left over. Ideally, you want to have left over watts anyways so you dont put a strain to your PSU and PC. It's the most reliable, and safest way to go if you're going to run a beefy rig and it keeps your options open for future upgrades without having to turn over and buy an entirely new PSU. See, I'll probably end up having to get the 1000w Corsair, and I'll have to try and sell this one. With the price drop on it ($250), I dont see why not. You're really getting what you pay for. Quality, style, class, reliability, and comfort. Comfort, knowing that your PC is in good hands. I trust no other power supply brand. Corsair, all the way.

I just found this one and I think it might be a better PSU than the 1000W Corsair.

Here it is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256041

Silverstone cannot match Corsair. And a 1200w PSU is overkill. You're wasting your money, unless you plan to stuff your PC with THREE GTX 280s.
